These raid runs for gold is gonna ruin dragonflight

these guilds on chat atm doing raid runs for gold is gonna be start of ruining dragonflight if we people dont play our part in reporting them and yes its illegal as there getting paid to boost us basically and we will get a permanent ban too so blizzard are cracking down on these but we need to play our biggest role and that is to report them so they can find a anti- boost/ selling for gold system in place.

What the hell did I just read?

No, boosting for gold is not against ToS, so no, you should not be reporting them.

^This, but only for reasons that benefit Blizzard.

Uhu i agree

Eh, there is a report option for boost advertisement in the search tool tho? And you can be certain I used it about 50 times yesterday alone…

lols imangon me carrying level 10-55s in iland expeditions
in DF is going to be 10-65 :stuck_out_tongue:

Boosting for gold is 100% legal.

Think the only rule is that you cant do advertising in the group finder anymore for crossrealm boosting.

I’m more curious; how can ppl afford to get boosted? It takes some serious time and effort to farm gold.

Most be token and visa/mastercard that get that amount of money. Holy crap!

I am pretty sure that the kind of people who buy boosts won’t farm gold. Wouldn’t fit their psychological profile imo ^^

So tokens, yeah. Blizz must rejoice.

I agree! Personally do I rather stop playing then buying a boost of any kind. The whole MMORPG purpose get lost when you don’t progress your character by playing the game.

I recommend players to play single player games if they don’t like the multiplayer genre!

But token won’t go anywhere since blizzard makes huge money from micro transactions. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, and even that rule isn’t made sure to be followed. For every group finder advertisement I flag there are two to three new coming up. What exactly is the purpose of a flag option if it isn’t effective? The only way to make sure this spam culture burrying actual group searches in the tool is to ban them. If they can apply a name / word filter, how hard can it be to include typical boost selling phrases, which most of the time have the exact same wording in the group title or notice?

That said, I’m glad that tokens exist and I do buy them from time to time as every adult knows it’s easier and faster to make the money irl for the average player. I use them only to buy stuff from the AH though and such.

I think if it’s one odd boost for whatever reason, I can understand that, but e.g. boosting being the way you “play” the game and do it on pretty regular basis, I don’t quite get that. I’m afraid it’s something you could get addicted to even if you’re not super well off financially and then it’s milking the addicts which is a pretty shady practice by all parties involved.

I imagine most will use tokens but some will be good at playing the AH or making gold through other means.

I don’t care about the boosting myself, as long as they stick the their designated channel and out of the group finder.

These are so few people, that it shouldn’t even be a consideration

Aye i agree! To buy token for pots, flask and even rare mount spawn example “time lost” I find okey! But to buy character power and KSM/Curve with gold isn’t ok in a mmorpg imo!

And I also agree on the malpractices that the gaming industry are know for! Gaming companies aren’t our friends tho, they want to make huge and quick bucks and they often don’t care a crap about the game more then it should bring revenue on investment :stuck_out_tongue:

if you have 15 mission table alts you pretty much get boosts and wow tokens without any real time or effort

For example I got a boost on my Hunter for Sylvanas when that was the current raid, it’s an alt I don’t play. I didn’t need a token to be able to do that. I just wanted the bow. Fortunately for me it dropped first time.

It really depends what people are getting boosts for and how much they cost. Some are astronomical and others are reasonably priced. A friend got a boost to get a rare mount. The one from the WoD portals. Like him I’ve never even seen one of the portals in game

It’s complicated, yeah, I think it’s clear that you play the game a lot so I wouldn’t beat down on that. I’ve experienced people who flexed on other people with their rating bought by a boost and the others were sweating to get there in the meantime because they weren’t so experienced. That’s also the kind of environment it creates.

I am happy with the channel separation though as if it’s not in my face then whatever, but it does have some impact nevertheless. I think the worst impact is on pvp tbh.

This fact instantly made me quit trying to get good at wow, so I just play it extremely casually now. Why get good, when someone else can swipe their credit card and gets supported by Blizzard.

Variations of the game without the token still have gold selling, it’s just not permitted. But it’s rife in Classic.

This is preferable IMO, a safe way for people to buy gold or play for free.
