Every once in a while I work on ships. Unfortunately, I encounter Battlenet blocked on a given network… steam, netflix, etc. everything works, but Battlenet keeps loading after turning on, even this forum page is blocked…
I heard that VPN does not work on Battlenet applications, do you have any other solution? What can I do to be able to play WoW on this network?
I am currently using my internet from my phone, but the lags are huge and it disconnects me all the time.
Any solutions ?
You can use VPN, but because VPN is also used by illegal services like goldsellers you may get crossbanned and the appeal process can take quite some time if you’re innocent.
If you got a premium VPN that assigns you one fixed VPN that is better, but no guarantees if it may work.
I’m guessing you’re trying on the ship’s satellite connection.
Most likely it’s the network/router/firewall settings that’s blocking it. Company networks are usually pretty closed due to safety reason, especially on ships.
I recall years ago battle.net using ports few other gaming clients use. So could be simple as doing some port forwarding.
Anywho, you probably gotta talk with the IT guy… If he’s aboard ^^
Of course the mechanognome is also the IT guy, good guess and advice anyway
