Like you mentioned, its impossible to make everyone happy, but its definatly possible to make this game better. And there is a few things that can be easily adressed to fix it. But from a business perspective i can see why blizzard is handeling things the way they are.
Content draught is a consequense of many people leaving the game.
Hopefully if they start something radical. It doesnt create a huge divide. Us players canât even agree on âflyingâ. 2 camps with pro and against flying folk. Both have arguments for and against. And thats just 1 aspect of the game. Imagine people agreeing on what the whole game should be?
And how do you prove whats fun and what isnât? Like I said the term is extremely subjective. Whats boring and brain-dead for you, can give âthe blast of the lifetimeâ for me and etc.
Numbers are objective, not prone to emotions and just follows logic.
I am NOT defending everything Ion does but just asking. How do you âobjectivelyâ judge a âsubjectiveâ metric?
License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:
Derivative Works: Copy or reproduce (except as provided in Section 1.B.), translate, reverse engineer, derive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on or related to the Platform.
Cheating: Create, use, offer, promote, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:
cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard (whether accomplished using hardware, software, a combination thereof, or otherwise), influencing and/or facilitating gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;
bots; i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that allows the automated control of a Game, or any other feature of the Platform, e.g. the automated control of a character in a Game;
Number one reason why this game feels like really bad nowdays for me. There is no feeling of server communities. Nobody talks. Nobody goes anywhere in the world. There are shards and phases. Its all empty. Only âconversationâ is non-stop tradebot spams. Either the game systems are really badly managed or peopleâs behaviour in general has changed. Everydoby listens music, does their own things and are using discord. I dont think the era we had will never come back. Even classic servers has nothing but non-stop spam.
I dont mean that they are litterly allowed, i know its against ToS.
But bots could have been delt with easily if blizzard cared about removing them.
Homever they generate alot of money from them via subs, so they lowkey doesnt care about the problem.
You do not need a 235 piece on an alt. A 190 piece is more than fine for the performance increase it gives you. The ilvl is just the icing on the cake.
Agreed
Depends on the covenant choice.
M+ gives you a privilege on alts. Afaik that came later and the starting cap was way too low at that point and some upgrade prices were meh depending on spec (Fury 2h DW says hi)
I can feel it because i get gear outside of it. I do Torghast when im in the mood for it. A 235 lego is not required. The basic effect is of much more importance than its raw ilvl.
Same as above.
With that i can agree. At least at this point in time.
Systems like HoA came with Legion in the form Artifacts.
Essences: Agree
Corruptions: Should never have come live the way they did in the first place. Vendor should have been there straight from the start without a rotation. And the time before the vendor was absolutely horrendous.
Still does dependent on the content you do. As it did in previous xpacs.
Thats still the case.
Technically there is. Whether that content is ones cup of tea is another story.
Making WoW F2P will just beg for one of the two things: A vast array of cool looking transmog options in the shop with the stuff you earn ingame being of butt poor quality. Or P2W mechanics (and no, tokens are not P2W)
We are not. The stuff we get in the shop are in no way superior to what we can get ingame and still pretty much a matter of taste.
And there we already have the first literal P2W option. Just no.
They are not.
Because they turn other customers away. Same reason why games bann cheaters.
They couldnt because its an arms race between the company and the bot creators. Always has been, always will be.
No they couldnt as stated above. They could deal way better with them by not relying on player reports (which is an absolutely dogpoop way of doing it. If its an extra help then yes its fine. If its the sole way then no)
If that was all they cared about they wouldnt have hardnerfed multiboxers so hard (which in its orignal form was allowed until very recently. Still is allowed generally, but hardnerfed. Which was also a swing at botters that abused multiboxing). And they banned those not following the new rules very quickly and very harshly as was visible on reddit given the abundance of beeps that ignored the change in the Terms and as such got banned (including permanently)
Not all. The majority yes. But several key abilities remained in the game. And technically the artifact system was continued with the heart of azeroth. Same with HoA into SL as a matter of fact.
You make it sound like geekie and me totally didnt have balanced damage on NâZothâŚcough.
Its within acceptable parameters for most. As long as one doesnt care too much about min maxing. Its the hardliners like Fae Fire mages, Fae Boomies, Kyrian Windwalkers and so forth that completely take the cake in regards of how much power they offer (and those 3 are absolutely disgusting)
Could already start doing that with 9.1. We are uniting all covenants anyway and all covenants follow us the player, the maw walker, the steamroller etc. So from a lore perspective it would made sense if the covenants allow us to use their soulbinds and powers (especially with us earning them during the bloody leveling anyway in the first place)
Yes. And add bloody sockets on all pieces back. INCLUDING the socket bonus from socketing the correct colours. Their âit could confuse the playerbaseâ excuse doesnt fly anyway given how this game turned into a simming simulator for every piece of gear you get anyhow. I mean as you know im hoarding rings like a madman. For a bloody reason.
The introduction of AoE caps should never have been put in the game. Especially with some classes not having them or basically not suffering at all from them. Causing a massive imbalance across the specs. The timer of m+ im generally fine with as otherwise higher keylevels would otherwise require the introduction of changing the encounters mechanically. Like Mythic Raids do for instance.
Yes. But i can also see how having a death counter, just like time counter, would cause people to create another kind of meta where anything that isnt a survival king regardless of how long it takes would get the boot. Also one would check how long these dungeons are in the end with such a design. With the timer system right now one can have a good guess of how long the dungeon should take. That wouldnt be the case with a âwe dont deal damage, but at least we dont dieâ approach. Both has its ups and down.
If that was just the only problem they faced. Im still calling Kerrigan 2.0 with their current lead writer. And their authors arent that much better given how they contracted a racist (although that was discovered later (or at least was brought up later) and its yet to see if they contract that person again) that pushed its own agenda in the book.
I would also welcome a 1 big questline for story stuff rather than 4 short ones. Also, as you know, im still highly opposed how the Fae story is so solitary compared to the other 3 that at least communicate/interact with one another. Not to mention the Fae Storyline including a for the horde MAJOR story part with Volâjin. Or even for the Alliance with Tyrande (afaik i would deem VolâJin bigger. Dont know if the Tyrande part in 9.1 is Fae only)
How tho. Classes change, abilities change, other stuff changes. Numbers arent the sole issue (and numbers in their pure form are never the issue. Dmg done/taken/required can easily be adjusted). And then the question is what ilvl those things should drop. Not to mention some of their trinkets and their effects. SoO with its Cooldown Reduction trinkets would be a good example. Or HFC with its spirit eruption trinket and Class trinkets from archimonde.
I would be more in favour of Guild Housing rather than Player Housing. Or both.
Getting Ion a reality check would also do wonders.
i think the problem lays in the fact they make the content long before it releases⌠if they made it closer to the actual launch date they would be able to react and make changesâŚ
rumour has it shadowlands was in the pipeline long before it was announced and long before BFA was finished⌠even before people were talking about itâŚ
THAT is the problem⌠it is why the 6 month mounts came out⌠even though by the time it happened they were already a laughing stock of the community⌠they couldnât stop it from happening as it was already in the release schedule.
Im not a casual thou, I want good gear on my characters, and that includes 235 legendaries on alts. I dont wanna be at a disadvantage wether its in arena or raids just because im playing a second character. There is no reason to timegate progression the way blizzard is disrespecting the players time.
Gratz to m+ lovers that rio score is relevant even for alts.
Ur missing the point, the point is that shadowlands isnt an alt friendly expansion even though it was claimed to be in an interview with developers.
Ok, let me rephrase myself because i wasnt clear enough when i said it the first time, Fun for me is when im feeling my character progressing, feeling my character becoming more powerful when i spend time doing certain activities. For me torghast is not one of those funny things. Its a place where im forced to go each week to craft my legendaries. And to be relevant for high end content u will need to spend the next 5 weeks doing torghast to craft a 235 legendary and i find that to be extremly boring. I would much rather run through it all quickly as many times as its needed in order to get a maxrank legendary. What is torghast according to you? Are u enjoying it? How could it have been improved?
Cool bro.
Yes i know, But at that point in time i personally wasnt bothered by it. I found artifacts to be a really cool thing back in legion. Homeever removing all that power when BFA launched cuz it was only âborrowed powerâ is problematic. There is another factor that made legion annoying, The fact that u couldnt controle if u would obtain ur bis legendary or not because it was simply RNG.
Ye i know ⌠timegating sucks âŚWhy is it always that we need to wait 3+ months for blizzard to solve problems that shouldnt have been there in the first place?
If were talking about relevant content in my case wich is above the casual player,
ur kinda contradicting urself abit when ur saying that i dont need 235 ilvl legendaries on alts, because gear is everything in shadowlands (especially in arena), So you need every slot maxed out basicly in order to be relevant and not get run over by geared players.
Ye if your doing PvE content, Homever in PvP (arena specifically) nothing will ever die if u dont press ur cooldowns.
True, i bet there is many people who enjoy farming pets, achievements, pet battles, and mounts i dont thou.
Ye probably as long as there remain good and rare stuff obtainable through the content. And if that would be their new way of financing the game and i wouldnt mind it, if the game was free to play. The shop already exists, and it will continue to grow with time its inevitable. I genuinly think it could be good for the game, and potentially be one good step in the right direction.
Hopefully it can attract huge pool of active players consistently like it used to be in WoWs prime time along with, fun content, less time gating, and more âplayers choiceâ.
Besides that WoW is already pay 2 win game, people are selling boosts everywhere wether its raids, m+, arena, or rated bgs. Auctionhouse also has a big variety of good loot (227 ilvl).
Wow is already a pay 2 win game, people are selling boosts everywhere and its way more common then you might think. Plus 227 ilvl gear is obtainable through auctionhouse.
Historically speaking this has been a fact for the last 10 years. People buy boosts, and its more common today then its ever been. In my opinion though boosting should not be allowed in this game, advertisement, making profit in exchange for gold and rtm should be zero tolerans. Charity boosts on the other hand, and carrying people because you are a nice guy is most likely good for the game, Advertisement = No.
Tbh im not particulary interested in discussing bots. My main post has nothing to do with it. But im glad you know how blizzard is operating against bots.
You still dont need a 235 piece. The difference in power is absolutely minuscule. Pff im using a 190 ilvl legendary for SLG Mythic because i cba upgrading it.
Im not talking about RIO score so spare me that.
No, im most certainly not. You are by assuming im talking about RIO.
No.
I dont give a toots about Torghast. I run it when im bored. I find it boring by design. Even if i could spam it for ash on end i still wouldnt do it
Doesnt change that your statement is false.
Not all was remove given the abilities that became baseline. Or passives. And the legendary system was trash until Argus anyhow.
Because its a business model. An absolute horrible one.
And im Raiding cutting edge. So?
False. It helps but is not required. The difference on one piece is miniscule. If you have the skill of a gladiator you would get to Gladiator anyway.
Same case in PvE. Do you have any idea how important CDs are in PvE? And yes stuff would die after a while due to the healing debuff in arena at least. And thats just the meta with their burst and whatnot. Youre still not just sitting around typing /dance when youre off cooldown.
In your case the entire PvE section is open.
Thats still not Pay 2 Win. They dont get an advantage over me in terms of performance. Infact they will remain absolute trash.
This has been discussed so often in so many threads. This has been debunked over and over and over again.
This expansion is the worst for alts and casualplayers. Atm i leveld 12 charter but when i reach lvl 60 i totaly loose the feeling to play. Dont wanne do same shiet again.
And why all this expansive cosmetic? As it is now you have no options to gear up as casual. But you can farm for your life to get cosmetics that have diffrent colors. Why dont put the cosmetics in the trashcan and make them gear with stats that can be used? And upgraded with valor? As casual player this expansion is the worst ever!
And who does WQ nowdays? Takes forever and gives nothing!
Actualy classic realms despite all the modern software for commucation still retain tons of community and social aspects compared to retail. So yes its actual game desing issue.
