This character is locked out due to a billing issue

Hi.

Kind of just curious if people have made similar experience and if perhaps a REAL Game Master could reply, and not some cheap AI.

On 31 Mar 2025, I purchased a Race Change.
There were no issues at all, until yesterday, when suddenly, my game did not allow me anymore to log onto the character that had said Race Change.

The order status of the order turned to “Chargeback” too.

I have opened a ticket, received a reply that had more spelling mistakes than actual advice, but I figured it eventually out on my own how to handle the Chargeback. (I have not actually received any money back, be it on my bank account or other accounts that I have linked as my Payment Methods, despite the Game Master claiming I did.)

I re-opened the ticket, because I have not only paid the money for the Race Change back once at this point, but TWICE.

I received a reply by yet another Game Master, that also can’t read, and cannot provide me any useful information.

Ontop of that, the Game Master failed to call me by my name.

This may sound funny or not important, but its not funny at all.

It only gives the impression that the Game Master didn’t even bother to properly look at my ticket and what I wrote. I am also starting to wonder if Blizzard even still has actual humans in their staff or if everything is just AI now. Can’t be that hard to get a name right thats written right above the ticket.

That being said, Game Master was useless, just like the first.

I read through the articles and ended up purchasing yet another Race Change, with Battle NET Balance this time.

And guess what.

My character is still locked and now changed to a race I do not even want to play because the article constructed me to do this to unlock my character.

I now paid Blizzard a total of 50€ ontop of the Race Change from the 31 Mar 2025, being a total of 75€ and received nothing but a character with a race I don’t want to play which is also locked out.

I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since 2013, put a lot of money and time into this, and I guess this is how loyal customers are being thanked.

Great job Blizzard. Thank you for nothing.

Sorry to hear about this, I know chargebacks can be frustrating to deal with in the best of times, and understandably more so when things don’t work out as expected.

While the forums aren’t a great place to deal with individual billing issues, I’d be happy to provide some general info.

If you’ve had a ticket reply chances are you’ve seen it already, but just in case you can read more about how to address chargebacks here:

A few important things to keep in mind:

  • If you haven’t received the funds back from the chargeback, you need to contact your payment provider. Many cases like this will be down to confusion and if you didn’t get funds in the place you were expecting, it may be possible that the original source of the payment isn’t what you expected.
  • Payments take some time to process, so it’s normal that characters aren’t unlocked immediately after making the repayment. Typically it will be done within 24 hours though.
  • From the sounds of it, you may have made an additional purchase of a new character service on top, which you may be able to refund here.

Ultimately, if you still need further assistance, the best option would be to follow up in your most recent ticket. I assure you Game Masters are very much human, and as such mistakes do happen, but when needed will continue to work with you to find a resolution.

I would love to solve this in a ticket.

Unfortunately, no Game Master seems to be willing to help unlock my character again.
24 hours are over in around one hour from now. The status is not going to magically change within an hour.

I paid for the service again eventhough I never charged anything back. I paid 75€ for a Race Change now. I want my damn character unlocked.

I don’t need to hear it again twenty times that I should contact my bank to see where my money is, I purchased a Race Change today. I want my character unlocked now.

I’m paying money to play this game and right now? I can’t play it. I’m paying for something I cannot use, and no Game Master is helping me. All I keep hearing is “Oh, sorry to hear!”.
