I haven’t played since the start of this expansion but im so astonished with the zones in the dragon isles it’s insane, quality beauty right there. I just wish we could use normal mounts too there so i can enjoy my exploring more calmly. I don’t know why i keep seeing so much negative stuff about Blizzard, but im a very casual player and i get easily excited so im sure people have their reasons for the criticism. I also loved Shadowlands, the cosmetics were super good, insane mounts and dungeons and raids were pretty cool imo. Im sure they will make Retail super enjoyable for everyone in a close future.
The good thing about the DF zones is they were designed with dragon riding in mind. That means Blizzard, no longer limited by comparatively slow flying mounts, could create more dramatic landscapes.
You don’t realize just how big everything is until you try to walk on the ground in Azure Span, and look up.
You’re right about that! Might be a pain to reach point A to B without dragonriding
Don’t worry Normal Flying is coming fairly soon. And there’s only 6 rep grinds for this time.
I wish I had it now, I’m doing the Secrets of Azeroth and I’m on the one that needs cave up high in Thaldraszus. Currently waiting for my Vigour to refresh (for about the 4th time) on my way up this mountain. Such a faff. At least it gives me time to come on the forums and moan about it.
It really is. Dragonflight is a blessing.
nothing will beat Ferelas in my eyes that zone was made with Angel dust
It is trash. Boring expansion. People hate Shadowlands but ignore we had actual stakes in the story instead of being the therapists of all dragons.
Oh, you’re still enjoying the Dragonflight expansion? Well, I suppose some people have a taste for overly vibrant and whimsical zones. Personally, I find the whole theme to be a bit too fantastical and flashy for my refined gaming palate. And the fact that you can’t use normal mounts there, well, that just adds to the chaos, doesn’t it?
As for your excitement over the cosmetics and mounts in Shadowlands, it’s clear you have a penchant for extravagance. I, on the other hand, prefer a more understated and classic aesthetic in my games. But to each their own, right? I’m sure Blizzard will continue catering to all sorts of players, including those with, um, unique tastes like yours.
Yes, it is a beautiful zone isnt it? I think the art dept really cant be beat in this game. WoW has a very unique art style and I just love it.
If you are having trouble sightseeing because of dragon riding then try a taxi! I have actually taken a flightpath over the whole continent before just to look at the scenery!!LOL
It’s pretty, still can’t shake of the washed out feeling though :<
The only stakes were the wooden ones in my eyes from having to play SL.
I’m honestly looking forward to getting my slow flap flying back and I can go to take loads of beautiful screenshots in the zones and do some proper exploring.
i agree with the OP - DF is gorgeous!
It’s a shame a world so beautiful is used so little. We have the usual world quests but aside for the climbing and maybe the photography ones, they could even be placed in a white room with no environment and it would be the same.
Though in fairness, it is being used more than previous expansions.
TBF I think they have made this expansion one of the most interactive when it comes to getting out in the environment thanks to all the events. I feel like there have been way less complaints about people bored, just hanging around the main city, then in previous expansions.
And you have to appreciate the introduction to the Dragon Isles…that opening quest where you follow the Drakonid to the top of the steps and they finish explaining the beauty and mystery of the Isles as you step forward and take in the amazing vista?
Pure theatre!
It is indeed beautifull
I genuinely like gathering herbs - something I never really was a big fan before, found it a nuisance at best -, because the enviroment is so beautifull I love to go out, fly around and experience these marvelous places
I did not played since the start of Legion, BfA & shadowlands, neither. I took a ticket not convinced by early July, and finally really enjoyed most of the aspects of Dragonflight. Drake’s riding brings something more to the game, very fun to play. I hope this gliding aspect will be still in game for next expansions, and even allowing players to glide everywhere, old mounts are just boring compared to dragon riding. I’d be please to see those old flying mounts receive improvements, able to be ridden in the same way, each with some particularities in their maniabilty, speed, etc, just like B777 doesn’t fly like a SU32.
This expansion doesnt get the appreciation it deserves. It seems most people have already forgotten how bad things were in BFA/SL. DF is not perfect, but it is a huge step up from what we have seen for many years now, but sadly people just keep picking at the flaws instead of appreciating what they have.
Visuals are great, but that’s it.
This is the most boring expansion they’ve ever created imo.
I can’t push myself logging in and playing my main or leveling up other alts.
I took a break and finished bg3 twice and I returned fresh after 1 month, hoping I’d get back into it.
Nope. The story is still beyond awful and cringe.
