This game put me off after a week

Hi. I used to play i believe since 2005 till MoP then left. I just came back becouse wanted to get that feeling when i was playing TBC or WotLK but god… what happend with that game tell me please?
First thing that really upset me is Sky Riding. Absolutely ridiculous.

I used to play a lot of PvP but it seems like it’s dead? I’m waiting 10+ minutes for random bg to popup and these bgs are nothing like it used to be.
Dungeons? It’s like a rush feast. If i stop for 5 sec i’m so far behind my group that i can’t catch up. So fast, big pulls. Boring…
Professions upset me aswell. I can’t understand how enchanting(for example) works now. So overhelming.
But the worst part is leveling. I think i did’nr met a single person doing quests till i reached like 70+ lvl. World feels dead and empty.

I got like month of subscription left but i can’t play this game anymore.

the game became about speed. The main mode is basically M+ after RWF over

The game turned into diablo cloning with wow models.
Instanced gameplay.

You can spend the rest of your sub on one of the classic modes instead

These days it’s all about endgame

Optional.

And everything else you describe is more about the community or participation for certain content than about the game itself.

Professions changed and yes they need more effort now, I guess its not everybodys cup of tea but personally prefer the new system although its not perfect over the old “afk professions”.

If its not for you, you dont need to play it, try out the classic era versions. The sub is the same for all modes.

I’m not a fan of the skyriding, it makes me feel sick so I use steady flight instead. You only need to do this once to unlock TWW steady flight for your whole account:-

I don’t really partake in PvP much myself (unless I’m forced into it) but they have added solo queue for Arena and RBGs which people can spend some time in a queue for. I have no idea about randon BGs.

Dungeons are mostly seen as a means to level and people have been doing fast runs for years. That is not new, even in Wrath we were going fast. At end game there is Mythic Plus which is a more challenging mode of dungeons against a timer.

Professions received an overhaul and we now essentially have talent trees. These unlock more recipes, in addition to the drops recipes and ones from vendors. Fortunately you don’t have to level up every previous expansions before you can do the current one. So you can jump straight into TWW crafting.

If you want to know something specific I’m sure you can ask on the forums and we’ll try to help you as best we can.

New players and returning players are generally ushered into Dragonflight because that gives you a greater chance of being with others and is better at introducing players to systems etc. However those that have levelled before have the choice of all the expansions and may not choose the same path as you. In the old days of being realm based you didn’t see many players around if you weren’t levelling at the same time as others. Much like Classic is now. With the introduction of sharding and cross faction play there are at least more players about. However the bulk are in end game.

It is 13 years since MoP, game evolved (for better or worse) and you expected more of the same.

The game has evolved into an arpg game rather than continue being an Mmorpg game .

Since the game has become seasonal Aka-style diablo only the hard-core-fans will defend this model …even if they don’t play …

Just try other games ( I have 21 days on still before sub runs and i haven’t do anything in like 2 weeks no alt-playing no nothing .) (I barely even visit the forums )

This ain’t it chief. You sound like you’re having a mid life crisis over a game. You’re not old and your not some grandpa. Nostalgia messes with peoples heads. You left the game for a decade then came back expecting Blizzard to keep the game frozen in time just for you?

What’s wrong with it? It’s faster, smoother…engaging. If you mess it up that’s on you. If you can’t chain the charges, learn. If you really can’t handle it there’s a toggle to go back to regular flying.

Yeah because you left. You weren’t part of the solution. Don’t expect it to be alive just for you.

The dungeon finder shoves everyone into the same queue regardless of mindset or pace. You (a returning chill player) get dropped in with people whos already done them a hundred times each and just want efficiency. They’re not trying to be toxic. So that’s the reality of that. But don’t twist it into the game is boring or dungeons are bad.

You skipped a decade of changes.

Leveling isn’t the point anymore. Back in the day leveling was the game. Now the game starts at max level. That’s where everything is. It’s been streamlined. Leveling isn’t meant to be meaningful in retail. But that’s why they released classic!
