I believe it was that they used the Warcraft Reforged engine for both her models and Uther, whilst her eyes should have been glowy blue I guess they didn’t have it in that engine?
It’s probably an oversight.
I just checked the animated short for her dying to Arthas and her eyes are human and brown in that one so who knows. An oversight indeed.
Try deepl.com
(the website, not sure about the plugin). it’s not perfect, but it’s getting rather good. Just copy&paste whatever you want to say and it’ll produce something .
That being said, attacking non-native speakers for poor grammar kind of nullifies someone’s point entirely. If you have to resort to such low blows, your opinion likely is not worth hearing.
My biggest gripe with Sylvanas is that she is very consistently portrayed as a villain that does not care about her “people”, but then in other sources she remarks how much she cares for the Forsaken and even the Horde. I feel like we need a Word Of God like they gave with Garrosh, but there has only been silence on that front. I guess they didn’t want to ruin their favourite body pillow object.
Garrosh was the Austrian painter though. Garrosh’s politics have been mainly based on expansion of the Orcish lands and on Orcish racial supremacy, even within the Horde itself. Trolls and Tauren were basically second class citizens due to their “inferior” races, and he wanted to wipe the Forsaken off the face of Azeroth altogether, which is why he ordered Sylvanas to attack Gilneas on the first place - he had hoped for catastrophic Forsaken losses.
Sylvanas is more like that Georgian man from that period. Her ideals are not racially motivated - she wants to bring everyone into the fold of the undead, and will quite literally walk over corpses of friend and foe alike to get there. And she will definitely betray and kill the people who got her closer to power when the opportunity arises.
Blizzard hates Night Elves with a burning passion. They cannot give Night Elves anything nice without also giving it to everyone else *cough*Warden armour*cough*
I disagree. She had already more than enough screentime. Other characters need focus too. For example I haven’t seen Velen aside of the Amirdrassil battle and heritage on screen since Legion.
Other main faction leaders deserve main story screentime too!
She already had that second chance upon being freed from the Lich King’s control. She used that freedom to inflict some of the greatest atrocities seen throughout Azeroth’s history.
Her soul / mind was broken by frostmourn
Shf wasnt the same before Arthas kill her
I also hope to see her again, but in a grave. And we will realize that Garosh kill her, because she did not deserve the title of Warchief of the Horde, it took a real alpha man.
I thought he was an Orc.
Man it brings such a wide spread smile on my face, that you are so passionate and invested in this topic that you spell “Character” in three different ways within the same comment and you don’t even care
An undead who doesn’t simp for Sylvanas, that’s a very rare steak indeed.
Also, she should stay dead.
To be honest, a lot of people back then joined the Forsaken especially because of the interesting question of how would someone act if they were not a mindless zombie, but instead had the ability to think and feel returned to them? Like the Thrall’s Horde, the early Forsaken had been a very interesting concept.
Cata had been a paradigm shift for the entire Horde. Orcs were now rabid beasts driven by bloodlust rather than a peaceful nomadic tribe in tune with the elements. Forsaken no longer had free will, but it became clear that Sylvanas now had control over them instead of Arthas, just subtler.
Early Sylvanas was a fun idea. But as soon as Arthas was dead Blizzard couldn’t decide what to do with her now that her entire raison d’être was gone. And IMO they absolutely ruined a character that could have been very interesting. The idea of the banshee was that she was the whisper in the background, scheming and subtle. With Cataclysm she became this openly aggressive force, spreading blight and plague all over the Eastern Kingdoms. Giving her the Valkyr was a mistake. Sylvanas was better when she still feared death and when she could not afford to waste the Forsaken in open warfare because there were only so many left.
I’m going to say: No thank you.
Tbh, I dint noticed it at first read
From warcraft 3 to Wotlk and ICC she did already did questionable thing but still her focus were her revenge and with Arthas gone she loat ger purposes (or the thing that drove her forward)
She was basically written in a dead end and ist difficult to solve that, especially when so one-dimensional.
The beat way woud have after finishing her character arc giving her a paused, and then sporadic entries or screentime qhen it fir, nor puah her again in the focus lile in cata.
Yeah, at the Undead starting zone, you’re told you a choice…
Only later shown in silverpine or Andorhal that iat really the case, resurrect people and forced them to fight.
People theorising that sylvanas had some kind of mind control because the dracstic change of attitude, peasant and refugees whi murder previously by Forsaken joint them without hesitate inti fight.
For that reason she was fast compared with Arthas as Lichtking 2.0/Lichqueen.
Yesh, a bit, i can understand Blizzard a bit because storywise the Forsaken woud be extinct in a few yeas decades because their numbers dwindling with no way of replacement.
But in the other hand the Valky were a little but over the top as we see multiple times
The Forsaken become suddenly a threatening powerhouse, since the basically replenish their ranks with endless reinforcement from the fallen
The samw Forsaken who struggle during classic in their 3 side war with scourge remnants and Scarlett crusade (and for silverpine with Arugal’s worgen)
And that were previously a scourge asset which Sylvanas use without hesitation, which is odd since she hates all of the scourge.
Only do basically the same as Arthas.
And tbh we all know Blizzard dont care about number, if Blizzard need some big battles thy pill the troops from a hat, even this with loa population like gnomes, Draenei, bloodelves or Tauren.
So Blizzard actually didn’t need giving yhe Forsaken that tool since in other cases they don’t care from where suddenly that troops appear, they are just there whenever needed.
I would have been happy if they forced them to fight. But they got resurrected, immediately cheered for Sylvanas and took up arms against their former friends and family. This is not “force”, this is Lich King like mind control.
The thing about Forsaken going “extinct” is also a weird concept for me. A species can go extinct. Zombies cannot, by definition, go “extinct”. They are not a new species, they are literally just dead bodies animated by necromancy. They are still humans (with some Elf banshees thrown in for good measure), just living impaired. I can’t wrap my head around the concept that the Forsaken can go extinct. Outside of Sylvanas arguing for more troops to throw against her enemies, obviously.
Fans: Plz bring Sylvanas back.
Blizzard: We hear you… You miss having a Windrunner protagonist in your story. Here’s a new model for Alleria.
Fans: Blizz… Why u do this…
Now for my actual thoughts, I don’t want to say straight up NO. Any kind of big character return needs to wait a decent amount of time and really feel relevant to the present story. From what I know of TWW, Sylvanas doesn’t fit anywhere in a natural way that won’t feel terribly forced.
Now who’s to say that there isn’t a place for her in Midnight expansion. After all, they’re looking to do a huge Silvermoon remake, the Sunwell will be relevant and the elves as a whole. Maybe there’s a place for her there that makes sense from a narrative perspective and isn’t pure fan service.
Think how Illidan was nowhere to be seen after TBC, and was brought back in a key relevant moment, through a final raid boss in Legion. TBC was 2007 and Legion was 2016. 9 whole years!!! And I’m sincerely hoping that whenever they’ll bring him back it won’t be for fan service neither.
One way I can Sylvanas being reintroduced somehow is through Alleria’s story… Purely speculating here, but I suspect something is going to happen Alleria and she’s going to super void crazy, and as a result be shunned by nearly everyone… Then they’ll pick up Silvanas as a mentor kind of character and be all like “Don’t worry sis’ I’ll teach you how to be a goth girl, they’ll all be after you then”.
TLDR: Write a good story with relevant characters first.
Nah thanks.
NO, NO and NO! Again
She has to sort through a million million souls first. Those Titans made a right mess (see Algalon the Observer Quotes on Warcraft Wiki) as in “I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers flames, their denizens fading without so much as a whimper.” (Makers = Titans)
Seeing as how slow it always took to kill enough mobs for ears, feet or whatever, it may take her 20 years give or take to clean up the mess.
Bring… Back … GARROSH !!!
