Not completely right. I played in vanilla. I started my first character at launch and spent 8 years on various PvP servers. I can tell you one thing: it was very different back then. The min/max mentality is so strong in modern players that they form huge gank squads. Back in the day, amount of players on servers were fewer, and people knew each other’s names—on both factions. If you were unlucky and ran into a gank squad, you could just send a message in the local defense channel, and someone would come to assist. That never happens now.

I hope you’re wrong. Because if it stays like this, people will leave the game, and servers will become unbalanced again. In 2019, phase two was like this, but it did get better with battlegrounds. So, I hope this will turn out the same as it did in 2019. Vanilla was very different. People who claim it’s like vanilla now weren’t playing in vanilla.
there is a complete difference between a premade of friends having fun, and a discord premade of “R12+ WITH FLASKS, FAPs, LIPs, WORLD BUFFS FULL ENGI AND SAPPERS”.
Vanilla WoW was made for friends, Classic WoW is made for degenerates

most of the things u mentioned are just crutches bad people need. u can easily find much better pvpers that arent ranking willing to premade for fun
there are maybe 5 druids in the world better than mages u can find to fc

This time Blizzard did something smart and put pop out window warning you about pvp server to really think do u want to join it. But ofc u did and now there is no space for cry over ganking.

The only message that Blizzard should put before selecting a server and creating a character is that we must be aware as a player of finding ourselves stuck between the Bots/goldbuyers, the relentless sweaters, the degenerate players nolife and the mafia behavior of RMT pros (not forgetting the crazy prerequisites that kill the fun, the FOMO and the extreme rush content incompatible with normal use of WoW classic) and that Blizzard will do absolutely nothing about all this.

I’m sorry to pop your pink bubble but that is exactly wha vanila pvp is about. It will get a bit better once BGs release but “the open season” will stay. They even put up a warning sign when you choose the PvP server that sht will get real.

you don’t think people that grouping up for content like dungeons, battlegrounds, raids and quests was normal back then? You really believe someone would choose an MMO to play solo?
Grouping up for PvP like they do now was not normal then no. Ventrilo and such was just used for guild raiding cause someone had to pay for an account to set up a server.
It was never ever as organized as now and it was also not how it was meant to play simply cause ppl didn’t have the logistics to do it.
Most ppl didn’t even have a mic back then
