This needs to be talked about amongst fellow PvPers as well

The point of the entire thread is that it extends that gearing process, and it extends the gap.

Atleast its such a small gap that it isn’t necessarily needed to compete @ the higher levels of PvP!

Sure, its realy hard to defend if you want to minmax all of your chars in the fastest way possible.
But like last season, which ended after an eternity, there could be some sort of a grind (like rift runs) that will help us out during this season.

what are you talking about do you rather want to farm korthia for weeks to get sockets?

this season will last a year most likely in a few weeks you dont need anything from the vault anymore so you can spend all your coins on sockets. its a totally fine system

So your argument for it, is that it’s at least better than the last system? Yeah, sure, it’s better than the last system, but it’s still a bad system. They’ve successfully made you think that it’s a good thing not because it’s good, but because it’s just better than what you’re used to.
It’s sad.

Think of how good it can be, just a simple gold cost from a vendor, the gating on it makes no sense either, so no reputation required, not a lot of gold required, just a small cost for sockets.

But instead you’re happy with this, just because it’s better than the last? It’s pure brain programming. Which you’re falling for.

Let’s just not pretend like this isn’t the best and the most convinient way of acquiring sockets we’ve had during BfA-SL

Random proc sockets, vision farm, maw farm, korthia farm. All bad.

Also, one thing that has not been mentioned, you may pick tokens before being fully geared without losing any gear. In the previous seasons I have often had vaults with three items I did not need (duplicates, wrong stats or bad item such as Adaptation). In that scenario now I will be given one free socket to compensate having no usable loot. I quite like it.

Assuming both legendaries have a socket, which they should honestly with Unity being crafted everywhere and tier sets taking up the usual “big amount of stats so craft me there” slots, and two to three unkucky vaults (in my experience that’s a likely number towards the end of the gearing process) it’ll be very few sockets remaining after being fully geared. And no week will have felt like it sucked because my gear received 0 upgrades while others received a massive upgrade for free.
