I remember playing on this server back when WotLK/Cataclysm came out. It was bustling with players and activity.
I log in today and the place is a desolate wasteland. Trade chat is dead. Nobody is talking because, well, there isn’t anyone to talk to. Cities have a maximum of 18 CoA people in them at peak times and questing zones are empty, save for a few xrealm players. No guilds recruit; the few that exist remain in their isolated cliques.
I find it completely absurd that I am expected to pay £20 to move away to a more populated realm. Why must I be punished for something that isn’t my fault? Where are the free realm transfers? If Blizzard doesn’t make any effort to remedy low populated realms, people will leave. Logging in to an empty community doesn’t make me want to pay £9.99 a month.
I managed to speak to one person last week, in Thunder Bluff of all places, about this. He was a level 38 mage, lamenting over the fact he rolled on here when his friends were on a busier realm. It’s not too late for him to start a new character, but I don’t want to level another priest back up to level 92.
WoW is already, in effect, a single player MMO (which it barely does well). With no players to socialise with…what’s the point?
(I appreciate that writing this won’t change anything. I just wanted to vent. Also, I am not in a guild; I don’t know why it keeps saying that I am)
