pretty strange statment considering that affli is a DOT class and all it can do is spread dots farming “fluff” damage numbers. This is not the damage which kills, it’s a damage which creates pressure and forces healers to spend more mana.
BUT even here mm hunter seems OP because mm hunter is a BURST spec, it has little possibilities to make aoe/dot pressure yet in the match i sent mm hunters are behind affli lock not too far - 190 m against 210 m. So imagine a BURST spec doing almost same damage as spec which is dedicated to numbers farming lol
nah there are. Ofc every spec has some burst filler but it’s obvious certain classes are specialized more on making aoe pressure (dh, affli, balance druids) while other certain classes are definitely having bigger burst windows but can’t farm big overall numbers (arcane mage, mm hunter, destro warlock). Denying this obvious fact is dumb, just look at destro locks, outside chaos bolt windows they can’t do a thing lmao but when window starts and they play right - someone has big chance to die fast
the only thing that changes is that compared to other mmo games like swtor or gw2 blizz provided us big talent trees which allow to swap the role from burst to aoe pressure and vice versa…for example ret, you can take talents to be bursty or you can choose talents to be more aoe pressure. Or even combine (not efficient way though). But it doesn’t change the main conception though
Except that affliction, untill reset atleast, is proccing instant Shadowbolts which crit for 1.5 million. They are bursting harder than destro on top of having strong pressure, lmao.
I am sure some aff players are gonna scream unplayable after the nerfs but those are probably the same people who think getting 3 rows of dots should give aff a win condition by default.
As for Marksman, they do insane damage but the bigger problem I have with them is that they are too tanky now. Marksman is supposed to be big dam/slippery but squishy.
Not sure about that… Play sentinel AoE spec in BGs and you slap everyone and everything. I was maintaining over 1 million dps doing that. Not guaranteed obviously, but get 3+ people stacked at a flag and you destroy them all at once. Personally, I’d put MM up in A+ tier for BGs/Blitz.
Who will tell him that 40 out of 50 top blitz mm is playing dark ranger and that pad aoe damage same as trying to kill 3 people at flag is totally irrelevant?
Sentinel is underrated for BGs. Sentinel / Multishot / Rapid Fire on 3+ targetting can be like 50% health of 3+ people… I’m not really bothered about other players ngl. Everyone just copy’s the top players specs with no context. Like they show as Dark Ranger… but are they playing a certain way or playing Arena? Just sharing my experience of what I’ve had success with.
Well, hunter should either solo cap or solo defend properly, or at the least favor situation sit on team fight and spike solo target damage into flag carrier or heal/glass target. Overall aoe cleave is beyond useless for bgb.
Dark ranger provides bigger and more stable st damage as well as simply broken defensives, supporting all goals above
