I have noticed a problem about the MM spec which other specs dont have the same issue. Most specs are found everywhere and evenly divided across all pvp brackets unlike MM which can be found mostly in battlegrounds and can not be found in Arena. Of course when MM players avoid Arena like the plague and gather to battlegrounds we can see a clear failure with its spec design. For example: MM is as popular as arms warrior is but yet arena is full of arms but MM is nowhere to be seen.
It can do decent amount of dmg in battlegrounds since they sit behind their team, but in arena it is just not possible. I do think Blizzard has to help this spec and do a rework on Aimed and Rapid so it can function properly in Arena.
Suggestions for Rapid Fire:
*Rapid fire is on a long cooldown and can easily be disrupted by CC and disarm, which make us lose tons of dmg. This is not good for our gameplay. It needs a rework to it and suggestion is to half its cd from 20 sec to 10 sec.
*Or if CC’ed during Rapid fire the Rapid fire resets and you can use it again.
Suggestions for Aimed Shot:
*Right now aimed is on 2sec+ long cast like chaos bolt is and its cast time needs to be reduced significantly. MM should not stand still for a long period of time as its not a tanky spec like a warlock is. MM flops in Arena if they stay still for long period of time.
*Or make Aimed Shot castable while moving like how it was in mop/wod
This rework will not be an annoyance to others as Aimed is not spammable and is capped on 2 charges and has a 8 sec reload. It will only help MM do its rotation like it should of been, since at the moment it cant do any meaningful dmg while kiting for its life in arena unlike our cousin specs bm and surv which can do dmg at free move while kiting. This current gameplay make MM hunters flee from arena, and from all my games played I only once saw 1 MM. It is not normal and our spec needs help along with fdk and maybe enh sham aswell.
These suggestions are what our spec needs. And if those suggestions get refused by blizzard, then our dmg needs a flat 20% buff to arcane shot, aimed and rapid so our spec can perform at a decent level like other specs do. With Hunters it usually worked this way - meele meta - go Survival. Caster meta - go MM like last season. BM - universal and is ususally the one that most people play.
MM needs some rework and maybe damage nerfed but granted some armor piercing. The difference of how much damage you deal to Mage and DK is insane.
Yes I was thinking the same. It is not hard to fix our spec if blizz devs invest a few days to it. It just needs a rework to aimed/rapid and 50% of issues within our spec is gone.
A new pvp talent has to be implemented for us so we can choose if we want aimed and rapid to be armor penetrating.
The key problem is that similar to Holy priest, MM just got cannibalized by BM. BM is way too strong in comparison.
MM needs Double tap back in order to be playable in PvP. Or a talent that gives Armor penetration of some sort. It’s probably the worst ranged spec in the entire game vs melees currently.
You need like what, 6-7 aimed shots to kill a Warrior, Ret, whatever plate?
And you just get zugged down and die. The current design is extremely uninteresting and you cannot even punish enemies mistakes
It’s a spec that survives by creating pressure. If you don’t have the damage to fight back, you just die. Similar to specs like Destruction warlock, if you don’t have enough damage, you just die
MM is in a really bad spot arena-wise - in all rated PVP brackets and across all rating ranges it was bottom 5 last time I checked drustvar, along with holy priest, frost dk, fury warr and aug evoker.
In most games you don’t have a “clear win condition” as MM, which you have as BM/SV for example, where you just land CC consistently and do mostly unavoidable instant damage while kiting.
Trying to push in for traps or casting a lot of Aimed shots gets you exposed and you get killed due to how squishy you are, so you are mostly forced to play from afar and run for your life the whole game without landing many traps and trying to drag enemy melees out of LoS of their healer and land a lucky kill.
There was a meta shift for MM due to several factors, making it harder to land kills during setups (shorter healer trinket, big health pools relative to damage, the recent pvp trinket agi reduction, etc.) and for this meta it’s best to be a sturdy melee/caster that can do constant high pressure without needing a lot of hard CC, just micro CC and interrupts and dampening will do the rest. MM has no place in such a meta unfortunately
mm hunters just want to one shot and play a braindead unbalanced game.thats the whole point of mm.its the most boring spec.and only being played cause its so “deadly”
