Assuming you’re in a situation where you’ve used all of your wyrm crests I guess I’d agree, but most people aren’t in that situation. They have X/300 wyrm crests left, in which case I’d say hold off and actually get those wyrm crests, since you might get more items that need aspect crests this week in the meantime.
Yeah I just consistently see “You can downgrade aspect crests” as responses to people commenting that they have to do lower keys to get wyrm ones, which is terrible advice. If you already capped on wyrms and have no use for the aspects you have, you can absolutely downgrade them.
and why in your opinon its horrible advice ? when in 2-3 weeks we will see spam threads with main topic " ey blizz i have nothign to do with my aspects crests - let me send them to alts " and "why no account wide crests blizz "
Because those people do currently need aspect crests. Right now you need 21 aspect crests to get to full 441-447 without looting a mythic / heroic rare raid item. Having to go do content well below what you’re capable of to get upgrade items is stupid.
Because it’s an improvement that has no negative impact at all? It just moves the people farming 11-15s for crests back into the keys they actually want to be doing, so the people who are around the 11-15 level can get into keys.
It’s also something blizzard have already acknowledged as an issue and are likely to either fix or take into consideration as the system evolves in future patches. It’s just annoying right now while it’s still an issue.
I agree it is far too overcomplicated. However, I like complicated things and I like using my brain. I just wish i could get higher than 424 without ever having to step foot in a dungeon.This is +8 iL which i guess has been increased a bit for solo players. I got bored of Mythic+ mid Shadowlands. Seems the cap for solo players is indeed 424.
I just came back for a weekend taster playing retail and I admit I have no idea what’s going on, I have about 1900 different DF currencies, crafting currencies, upgrade currencies, unknown currencies that I need to google.
The level of bloat is beyond what I would have imagined, it is truly a mess. I’ve played Warcraft a long time, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if new players coming to this game just throw their hands in the air and play something else.
Yes, there is denying.
This system forces you to grind the same piece of gear in multiple tracks and forces you to grind low level and high level dungeons. It did not solve any issues at all. You still have to grind lower level dungeons and you still have a cap on it.
It literally solved nothing and added more complexity and grind.
So, no, it is not better. A refining of the valor system and expansion of it to raid gear would’ve been much preferable.
Just cause you can gear one toon faster does not make it better.
You had to grind many a dungeons to achieve that.
Less grind and more rewarding is better. Also, this is a horrid system for alts.
Also, if you don’t have a good group and don’t time the keys, the grind more than doubles.
This is simply worse and it is amazing how some people can’t see it. It’s like Artifact power all over again. It takes time to sink in, it seems.
Idk, the needing to do lower content thing has already been brought up and responded to by blizzard so we should either see a solution to it or it be taken into account later on.
Splitting the tracks is the only reasonable way I can see to have ilvl roughly correlate to content level.
People only liked valor once it was uncapped, which isn’t part of progression it happens much later on (As it should). The fact it was even possible to reach 440 ilvl this week is insanity, regardless of how feasible it was for the average person doing 3-4 keys a week.
It literally made everyone able to upgrade their gear from all content and stopped forcing them into M+ to get gear they could upgrade and rely on having use of the catalyst to be able to improve tier.
Now that system is universal. No achievements are required to upgrade. You just have to do the content you enjoy.
Explorer/Adventurer = Open World Content/Dungeons
Veteran = LFR/M+ 1-8
Champion = Normal/M+ 9-16
Hero = Heroic/M+ 17+
Mythic = Mythic Raiding/Great Vault from 16+
So instead of getting normal gear and being stuck with static ilvls you can now upgrade it. The upgrading levels overlap. For example a 2/5 Hero is the same ilvl as a 6/8 Champion. You lose NOTHING going 8/8 on a Champion piece from Normal raid, then getting a Hero piece from Heroic. When you go to the upgrade vendor, getting your piece of loot (in the same slot) from Heroic (Hero), it won’t cost you any crests to get back to where you were. Just half the flightstone cost.
The drop types are determined by the content you do. So no more stuck because you’ve not got score. The drops you get can just be upgraded.
I would rather have this than the Valor system but it’s fine for you to prefer the old system.
