Gnomes, Goblins, Mechagnomes, Vulpera. Silly, have some serious lore here and there of course (see Mekkatorque cutting Thermaplugg clean in half as vengeance for his people) but overall they’re a light-hearted break from the more serious lore of death and destruction and sadness. Do you like this type of playable race? Would you like more (such as Hozen, Tortollan, Tuskarr, etc)? Or are you against them in the game?
Gnomes are tasty
Gnolls and Murlocs, those you mentioned don’t sound interesting.
I think 4 of them are kind of enough atm, but tbh, I wouldn’t mind if they received major customization updates and more lore development. I think goblins will play a huge role though next expansion, if we go underground and deal with azeroth.
Gnomes are a staple in D&D so they aren’t exactly silly to me. Same with Goblins, though they are quite different.
Nitpicking aside, yes I like them and would like to play Tuskarr. Murloc is a stretch too far.
I have only serious characters and I need a silly one… just can never settle on Gnome or Vulpera.
Yes.
I also wouldn’t call them silly, honestly. They have a different vibe, sure. But I like that. Not everything has to be same-y.
I wouldn’t mind Tuskarr, but it’s not a must.
Agree with this honestly, very well put. I do welcome the silly/wacky aspects of the races though, like the jokes with goblins always blowing themselves up in some way. I always look forward to quests/story involving a bit of lightheartedness.
I don’t really play them, but I love them. Reminds me of the movie “Life is beautiful”, teaches you to put a smile on your face despite the seriousness of the situation.
I can’t say it enough, Gnolls.
They should all be removed, the game should consist of humans, dwarves, trolls and orcs, with the occasional cow allowed only if they’re making milk or being dinner.
All these other races are awful and should be removed, certainly we don’t need any more elves or silly gnomes, foxes or werewolves, or any new ones, with one exception: murlocs, and only if they’re taken seriously!
Meh, they’ve always just been there, bipedal cows for instance. Pandas were in WC3 (before Kung Fu Panda existed).
The game has always been a mix of humour and serious and usually this worked well.
Alright Garrosh.
