Thoughts on WoW 2

The Illidan one looks like they merged him with a Venthyr.

Yea, i find the illidan one to look quite weird, the head stands out so muh. Absolutely love how Guldan looks like in this version. Mekkatorque is cool aswell.

the game is 18 years old i started it when i was 22, yea im 40. So i hope that we get a wow 2 before i die of old age. I always see these amazing new mmo’s in the works that look so amazing and wish wow 2 would happen. But will it ever ? i doubt it, they probably worked on it and canned it at some stage they have cancelled a lot of promising projects over the years. Honestly i dont think we will ever see a wow 2 i feel like it will just slowly fade away like everquest.

In my opinion wow should have ended in Wrath and the reasoning is that the goal wow was to finish of the story that warcraft 3 gave us, and thus killing the lich king. There doesn’t need to be more.

And after wrath they should have been working on a warcraft 4.

Altough the capabilities of making a mmo back in Wrath was still limited and whouldin’t be as impressive as modern mmos. I dunno when Blizzard should have considored to work on a new mmo.

I think with the MS acquisition I could see something like this happen in the future.

  • They should do a large time skip to ‘soft reset’ the story and setting.
  • Bring the game to consoles as well for a larger population, with deeper combat mechanics.
  • Better realised races, start with fewer, deeper customisation and superior animations (lets face it we dont like seeing stiff riding animatons)
  • Maybe take mount travel and customisation to the next level, much like we’re seeing now with Draginflight.

I tink maybe when Riot release their MMO it could push them to do something more.

i can’t see wow 2 happening under the current leader maybe after the great M$ purge of Activision-Blizzard

I dont think there will be a wow2
I believe they will keep updating and edit the current version and keep on working on replacing the current engine

Yeah, I think we’ll see WoW on Xbox next expansion.

I don’t think we’ll ever have a completely separate “WoW 2” with a completely new graphics engine. WoW’s graphics are all about artistic style, and it’s not necessary to have a super high-fidelity engine with ray-traced-everthing to show that off well. Blizz already continuously make small improvements to the engine with every expansion, and that’s all it needs. It would be terrible for the game if Blizz would completely cut off the existing content and create a separate WoW game.

I don’t think making WoW run on Xbox is so much a technical challenge, but more of a game design challenge. To make it a success, Blizz would need to create a really good UI (what we got in 10.0 isn’t good enough), simplify a few classes that have too many active abilities, and also design dungeons and raids so that they can be played properly completely without add-ons, by tanks, healers, and DPS classes.

I have to admit I was surprised to read this considering some people, including myself, believe Wow’s TAB targeting to be the worst. I mean the TAB Target function in game prefers to select targets out of range and cycles through all of them before even targeting the one in range. It also ignores the target right in front doing damage to you in favor of a neutral target. This has been my and some in game friends experience ever since the changes made in WoD. Unless there is somewhere a cvar or setting I don’t know about for me its a crappy targeting system.

The closest we will come to a WoW 2 is an expansion where Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor is revamped, the factions are merged, and all cities welcomes everyone of the merged faction. We might get a new second playable all-race faction for the faction gameplay and new, hostile settlements, but this is a lot to pack into one single expansion.

There will never be a WoW2. WoW is a service that evolves over time.
We are currently playing WoW3.5 already.

Nop , 99,99% .
To create a wow 2 they will need a new engine something modern , that means resources .
If another company buys the franchise maybe .

Wrath was when WoW peaked in # of subscribers. No one at Blizz would be mad enough to suggest ending it there and then

What do you mean? We are already way past WoW2!

The current WoW is version 10.

They can literally update/upgrade/change any code or system. Better yet, they already did a bunch of times. This is the nature of a ‘cloud’ service like the MMO’s are.

So why would there be a ‘2’?

You are already playing WOW 2 if you didn’t noticed

When i read something like this i CRINGE so hard

40k is my bread and butter. Been playing since 3rd edition back in 1999.

The grimdark of the 41st millennium isn’t something that would gel very well with the direction that Blizzard seem to want to take thier products.

As for a WoW 2, chances are it will never happen
Or at least not in the sense of a traditional MMO.

Stop cringing at the panda.

I don’t think we will get a WOW 2. They can pretty much do everything they want with the current setup. WOW today is pretty much a completely different game from a code perspective compared to when it went live. They are constantly upgrading and tweaking the engine to make things run better and more efficiently.

Only reason I think they would do a WOW 2 is if they made a design decision where the game tanked badly. So badly it was no longer viable to keep the game running. Then they do a WOW 2 as a fresh start, new marketing to bring players back etc

Wow, 2 don’t make me laugh.
