Do you think there will ever be a WoW 2?
If so i belive it will be a precursor that takes time before the era we play in today. Some hundreds of years earlier. Perhaps it wont be alliance vs horde, as the horde we have today is pretty modern. Perhaps play as the humans when they still lived quite primitive from being expelled from Northrend.
I also imagine the game to have action combat.
what are your thoughts, if it were to be released what time it will be set it? Perhaps even far into the future taking inspiration from 40k

I’m not familiar with how it worked in Warhammer so what would happen to all my efforts on my current characters?
Would they be imported into WoW2?

Maybe under a new technology. But I don’t think a WoW would be anything like WoW is played today.
Back when WoW was first created, the cost of producing an MMORPG the size of WoW was very risky investment, because many of them failed.
I would expect any “WoW 2” would require a similar risky investment into a new entertainment technology.
If you’re just looking for a graphics update or remake of the game, then I think the way WoW is now will continue to serve its purpose for many years to come.

I can already imagine WoW raids be like playing Dark Souls.
I assume they are dead by then, perhaps an old memorabilia will be there of your charater, a statue a text etc.
In that case I’d not be very keen

WoW2 won’t happen for quite some time if it even does. Blizzard has plans to go much further with the current WoW.
Even if it says that Punyelf sacrificed herself for all of gnomeanity? saving everyone (mostly the gnomes)?

I want a take back Gnomeragon patch!
But I would hate to leave my main character behind, everything I’ve done on her, everything I’ve gathered etc.

Perhaps the Gnomes will adore Punyelf so much that they resurect her and put robotic limbs on to her, and you will continue to play as a Mecha elf.

No thanks. Tab targeting is what makes this mmo the best.

No thanks, most of the playable races we have now would not fit into that scenario.
On the bright side, you will probably still be able to play as gnomes.

If wow 2 is to be made, then in my opinion, story should continue where last expansion ended.

But the story is so bad nowdays, it should either be in the future, similiar to 40k as i mentioned or set in far far away galaxy long time ago
Either way we could still have new races if we go to to early humans in wow when they were expelled from northrend and lived quite primitive and still had some vrykuls as allies. Other races can be earthens etc.

Future sure, as long as there are no robots and laser guns. You don’t need to mimic WH to make setting.
Idk, something like bronze age collapse, and then reconquest of Azeroth. Idk, i am not story writer.

Wow inspired 40k, no laserguns but cyborgs and stuff, check the link.

I don’t see why there’d be a WoW 2 at this stage. Launching a new MMO isn’t exactly easy, didn’t exactly work out smoothly for Square Enix going from FF11 to FF14 1.0, not to mention all the other MMOs that just never get anywhere.
Besides, Blizzard have done a great job at keeping a near-20 year old game feeling modern and fresh, there’s no way we’re getting a WoW 2 as a complete separate game. In fact, I’d argue the level squish and Chromie time changes are effectively a WoW 2 anyway. New/returning players are directed through modern content and the legacy expansions still exist to be explored at a later date.

Perhaps it doesin’t need to be a mmo, but rather an RPG. A single player game like Skyrim, oblivion etc. Which takes place in the early years of Azeroth. Tbh whould love this.
