Thoughts on WoW Token in Wrath Classic

They didn’t misunderstand anything. They just made up an excuse for why they did it.

What annoys me the most, is that we were denied the Random Dungeon Finder because it would break the spirit of classic, despite the fact it WAS in the original WOTLK.
Where is the spirit of classic now? Where was it when you added a store mount to BC?

You don’t care about it at all, which makes me believe this threat is just so you can look like you care, but it gets thrown into the bin anyway.

This isnt even about RMT, its about giving raidlogging folks a free way to keep subbed so game wont die.

A token is 9000 now and a lot of people are sitting on 5 times that and are probably getting bored w nothing to spend it on.

9k? For 20€? What a steal. That will teach gold sellers and their… 1.12€ per 1k… Oh shoot

This sums it up.

Thoughts on wow token? Only one is that Blizzard is a bunch of clownes. (Ofc not you Kaivax we love you)

You should have hired some GMs to actually make sure that bots and people buying gold were getting banned way more often

Maybe better idea is just to open game shop with full items inside for 1-5 token depends how rare it is ? or make ViP subs where u need pay extra 20$ more/month but u have exp boost, H+ drop from normal mode, internal bot from blizzard, etc. xD

The logic used to explain why is sound in isolation, it makes sense… But it reads as complete nonsense because you’re getting paid for it.

Sure if tokens were a 1:1 value between seller and buyer then that would stand up to reason, even a small premium for server costs or all that I could accept. But no, every time someone buys a WoW token Blizz takes like £7 and it goes into Bobbywix’s pocket. As long as that is the case we have to assume that maintaining this market, ramping up gold costs, not banning bots, everything else, is all in your financial best interest.

Corpo is as Corpo does after all

If the WoW Token is just a tool to combat RMT and botting, why does it cost 20 € and not 12,99 € (the same price for one month of play time)?

Just make GDKP illegal and you are done with 50%. We all know that RMT is being used for gdkp, you even stated that back ago.

Banning bots could be quicker. Seeing the same bot for 2 weeks doesnt make the impression that you are doing the work. Banning the bots while they made the profit, only creates more of them.

Excuse for an excuse. You made the game pure p2w by adding legal tokens to the game.

Btw, if this bluepost is the reason that you are putting up tokens to combat it, im sure that the classic era will get it aswell anytime soon.

What were the main reason you took action against gold buyers and sellers in the first place? Because its a form of cheat and unfair play and p2w.

You cannot be against gold buying/selling and the implement it yourself… jeez, your logic at Blizzard is flawed to say the least.

They try to combat cheats with cheats. Disgusting

It doesnt combat RMT!!! Even if Blizzard sells gold its still RMT as you get gold for real money.

They act like its fine if they sell the gold lol.

Good job (insert sarcasm) ,

All you have done is NOT listen to the community and then screw them all over ! this AINT classic anymore this is now RETAIL LITE …

WHAT WILL IT TAKE for you to actually understand what the community wanted and what you promised ! … oh rite … you are incapable…

Have fun counting ur pennies because the exodus has begun … this will be nothing more than a husk of a once glorious game …

You people are pathetic. Same story as with the OW2 PVE mode.

How about you moderate the game and not add the same thing that killed retail .

We will never completely beat “bots” or illicit RMT. It’s an unwinnable war as long as there is money to be made by third parties.

That is correct, but I believe you’ve dealt with the issue in the wrong way - in a RMT there are two involved parties that violated the rules. When you ban bots and do nothing about the players that buy gold, the bots will keep coming back in all ways possible because there is so much money to be earned.

If you did a ban-wave for people that bought gold, like a short ban for a first-time offence and longer bans for mulitple violations, words would spread that it’s not safe to buy gold and the market would disappear over night. When you’re doing nothing about players that buy gold, they will just keep buying gold and more and more people will do so because they see that there are no risk of getting banned.

If this is all about improving the game environment then why is the token more expensive to than a normal monthly sub? It’s 20€, instead of my 13€.

If theres no money grab argument then surely reducing the token price to the normal monthly sub price would only be a win right?
