Its a 5 euro profit.
Imagine we were laughing at the China players for having p2w services. Here we are lol.
Im not defending blizzard in any way but the players brought this to their own. You can thank the gdkp community for it mostly.
Absolute BS
You’ve destroyed the whole classic era, cause you’re too greedy to have real moderation, I unsub instantly and FINALLY will never come back.
Oh be sure I will make my voice heard by any people asking me about you or your games, you won’t be forgotten guys.
Not buying this PR BS. Boosts and tokens have no place in any Classic game.
You surely do.
In other words;
we’re to lazy and lack imaginiation to properly combat bots so instead we’re to srew over the community(again), lie to our community(again) and gaslight them into thinking that their anger isn’t justified(again).
this is a Ducking joke, at least have the dignity to tell us that Bobby wants a new yacht.
this is all about money, just like the overwatch 2 lie’s, forcing COD player to play the newest of the new for the most premium of prices by making it unsefe(literally) to play the old games and constant updates and news of the scummy battlepas and store in Diablo VI.
I doubt youre actually reading responses @Kaivax, But I´ll give it a shot.
I dont care about the Token, what i do care about is being lied to.
And you cant tell me that Bots are actually being banned by Blizard.
Lmao, Go on Gehennas and just look at all these Bots in Botanica or Tempest Keep, lmao.
I have added people on the Friendlist that are legit up 24/7 since 1 Month.
So please, keep your BS for yourself, thanks.
The thing is, they will now combat bots as they dont want competition for gold selling. They will now combat gold seller so they can sell gold themselves.
Okay, here are my 2 cents.
What I agree with…
Wrath, more so than Vanilla and TBC, have more options and content you can do that net you more gold than before. This makes it much easier to maintain your character’s need for potions, flasks, enchants, gems etc. And that’s pretty much it.
What I disagree with…
Almost everything else.
Don’t blame “the good of the community” for this decision. The community is fine. The economy isn’t broken because of illicit RMT. Bots aren’t nearly the issue you portray it to be. I have never seen anything I can confirm to be bots while out farming mats for food, potions, and flasks. There war a bit of an uptick and issue with it in the early days of TBC, but then it went away just as quickly as it arrived.
However, throwing in 15k gold for 20 bucks into the economy, THAT will have a MASSIVE impact.
If you play MTG, think of it as having a playset of Sol Ring. There is a reason why it’s banned. If you don’t use it, you will end up way behind your opponent. Same with this.
The fear of being suspended and banned made 99.99% of the community unwilling and too afraid to bother buying gold, even if they could afford it. Now, with the token, it will be in your face, painless, and completely legit. This will increase the amount of people buying gold by a degree I doubt you guys at Blizzard are willing to admit. The price of everything will now increase, which will completely throw the self-sustain factor of Wrath into disarray, and will make it no longer possible.
This was all about you making more money, because Uncle Bobby needs a 3rd Super Yacht. Otherwise you would have asked us for feedback about it weeks in advance. Fact is, you were too scared, because you knew that the overall playerbase would be strongly against it, and for good reason.
Don’t have time this week to do a few dungeons and some dailies to get the gold you need to get flasks and food for a raid? Buy some gold. Can’t be bothered to play more than raid logging? Buy some gold. Don’t want to play more than raid logging? Buy some gold. Want that special mount? Buy some gold. Want epic flying without having to save gold for it? Buy some gold. Need to get that rep up fast by buying rep items? Buy some gold. Want to be carried through a raid by paying gold to do it? Buy some gold.
You have removed the fear of repercussions.
This will impact the Wrath experience to a degree that you KNOW, but don’t want to admit to. Or you just refuse to see it because Uncle Bobby needs another 10MUSD Christmas bonus.
The ONLY positive impact this will have, is to limit illicit RMTs and bots, and therefore reduce the workload of your GSO team. That’s it, and anyone who thinks about it for more than 5 seconds will come to the same conclusion.
It came in the last patch of WotLK, so it was not there from the beginning.
So, is this bot created accounts that never get played or actual in-game bot accounts? Furthermore, ban email, I.P and MAC address and deny VPN connections… not just the accounts…
We need a better way to report these bots.
Suggestion;
Rather than a simple right click and “Report player > Cheating > Botting” Then a comments box which to be honest, I normally leave blank, how about adding a better way to drill into it? i.e.
Report player > Cheating > Botting > Select zone
That way, you get a better filtration of information.
Then, you will have players reported via zone thus easier to investigate.
The WoW token thing can ONLY work on Classic as you explained above IF you focus your efforts on banning farming bots, AND at the same time you completely forbid GDKP runs (and you actually enforce that prohibition).
Else the game just turns itself into a P2W mess. Yes, real money trading was always a thing, but it carried risks and most players stayed away from that. Now that it’s officially sanctioned by Blizzard, that restrain is lost, and game progression can be officially tied to real money expending.
And thats a no-no for Classic.
So, you just have to choose. GDKPs or WOW Token. Both at the same time cannot work as intended, as they have a perverse interaction between them which is detrimental to the game’s health.
Fixing a problem with a problem is not a solution, Blizzard. You clearly want more money out of this. And, you know what they say, if you have to give a long complicated explanation, then it’s not really an explanation, more of a justification by using paralysis to overwhelm the reader with a bunch of garbage information.
I just find it weird that people don’t outrage this much over the 3rd party selling since 2019.
But as soon as players who don’t want to break ToS gets a chance to catch up to the players that do break ToS through token, That is when people outrage
There has always been dislike towards gold sellers and buyers. You just can’t do much about 3rd party sites if you’re not Blizzard. Blizzard legitimizing the terrible business doesn’t make the business less legitime.
So there’s a demand for buying gold but the average/regular player (90%) doesn’t need gold? Nice logic.
I wish I could scrub my eyes out after reading this contradiction. It would’ve been better if you just said you did it for the money which is realistically the only reason you do anything nowadays.
This is a load of horse manure and you knew it when you were posting it. You just aren’t allowed to say it due to PR reasons. Making illegitime bad practice business into legitime bad practice business does not alter this into good practice business.
This is solely to pocket more money into Kotick’s pocket before he has to retire due to eventual acquirement by Microsoft. You entire first half of the post is simply a long-winded way of saying “We have no excuse, we just like money”. Because elsewise to actually combat gold sellers you’d set the price low enough to make them uncompetitive.
Gold selling will continue from offhand sites in similiar volumes. You just get to clean the cream from the top from those who actually wouldn’t buy gold because they are concerned by the consequences on their account and efforts if they got caught. Meanwhile the rot of bots and goldselling will remain underneath that creamy top of yours.
Full of crap and you know it.
So did many features that we now have from the beginning.
They didn’t say they want to add it later, they specifically said that they don’t like how it impacts the social aspect of the game and even made a new dungeon finder to compensate.
So this argument is not valid, if they make it clear that they don’t intend to bring it to the game later.
Gotta love the armchair-experts and conspiracy clowns.
All you need to do is to perma ban a single gold buyer and make a proper PR post like this one. I’m sure this would help the problem but I guess it is just easier to cash out before classic dies.
