Threads of Fate at Level 59 1/2

So I’ve read that Threads of Fate, the feature to level alts, is a bit wonky. You don’t have to repeat the campaign quests, but you also lose on the XP offered by them. Instead of the long campaign questline, you get 4 campaign objectives you must complete through various activities.

As a compromise, I was considering leveling as usual, and getting ToF when close to 60, to benefit from the XP, but to avoid repeating the end of the last campaign in Revendrenth, annoying to navigate through, and some of the last chores if I hit 60 sooner.

However, I have a question/concern. If I get ToF at nearly 60, do I still have to complete the 4 campaign objectives? I will have already most of the XP I want, and I will have done at least 3 zones in the regular way, so that’d be a pain I’d like to avoid.

I’ve never completed all of them on any of the characters I’ve lvled to 60 with threads of fate. Most haven’t even completed one. You just go to a npc in oribos once you’re 60 and talk to it and then you get sent to your covenant.

Cool. So you’re saying that the 4 campaign objectives of ToF are not a requirement, but simply an optional feature to get XP? Sounds great.

Yeah, you don’t need to complete them. They give nice exp if you by any chance would happen to complete them but they’re not required.

While they are not required i do want to add each one of them gives now 1 renown when you get it done and return to Oribos. This means if you ding 60 after doing all four you already got renown 4 on your fresh ding. I don’t know if storyquests also reward renown now, i have only done Threads of fate. It is very well possible that you get those 4 renown from other sources too while leveling.
