Not sure if true as I am only just starting to play around with warrior and at the moment lvl 40-50 dungeons.
Really like Fury and how fast paced it is, like having almost no GCD is nice, plus double two handers, double dash and a leap the mobility is sick, makes my DK skills and mobility feel super slow now.
One thing I have noticed about prot warriors though, just by spamming thunderclap / revenge you out dps everyone as tank pretty much, even dps specs…is this normal or am I missing something? Does it level out more later on in higher levels and is this just at lower levels?
Seems really stupid and odd the tank doing way more damage than most of the group who are dps, sometimes double as much in large mob packs. Single target is still doing really high damage against dps specs…
Makes me think I should just re roll prot warrior and choose dps role anyway. I love how fury makes me feel like the hulk though, very fast paced and constantly dashing / leaping to next target, loving it.
Although it does show me how much death knight especially on frost/unholy is crippled by global cooldowns and lack of mobility, feels like snails pace now on DK.
Prot has insane damage as a tank, yes, but if you’ll go for dmg you will forget to spare rage on your SB or IP and you will be busted. If you can faceroll content like leveling one you can use all your rage on devastate and rock DPS List. Also notice that Fury warrior gets his AoE capabilities at level 55, so before then Fury is only single target spec i advise you to respec to fury at 55 and you’ll see good AoE dps
Prot DPS can under the right circumstances be excessive while levelling. The adnvatage of levelling as Prot is that you have less downtime, the disadvantage is that it takes you longer to kill mobs.
Fury is practically unplayable until lvl 55, at that level whirlwind will cleave your next 2 single target abilities, and I discovered at that point that I was doing (barely) more dmg as Fury than Prot. Fury will always do more Single Target damage, however.
At lvls 70+ ish (give or take 10 lvls) I discovered that some good dps players were doing more dps than my Prot, before that, no one got close. Theoretically, at these levels, DPS should always outdps the tank. Practically, 9 out of 10 times, they don’t.
