It is bop, it is mean as a personal benefit. And only the 685 version is tidalcore, then it requires the bwonsamdi raid mat
Zero damn reason to remotely bother farming tidalcores let alone the rest to make the 385 BOP profession stuff. 385 is outdated by that time. Just another example of blizzard making professions utterly useless.

And you are overexaggerating. It WILL be needed, as you proc the 400 recipe from the 385 tidalcore recipe that needs bwonsamdi. and from that, the 415

Now they even add recipes for stuff that is not even in the game yet. Cart leading horse?
Such overexaggerated bluster. Have you truly looked at it? The tidalcore 385 gear is equal to normal difficulty gear in dazar alor. And doing normal for a time will let you craft personal heroic level 400 gear with breaths. I for one is not regretting to have jewelcrafting as one of my profs, as rings are notoriously difficult to get a pair off with desirable stats.
Also, you dont loose any of the special mats. You get them all back when scrapping them, so you just need to cough up the standard mats yourself if you want to try ‘reroll’ an item.
Once you craft the 385 trinket, you get the recipe for the 400 trinket, once you craft that one you get the recipe for the 415 one.
It doesn’t just stop at 385, so yes the 385 one will be an annoyance to some but given it’s a stepping stone to the 400 version and the 415 version it’s not a bad deal really.
