Time to ban boosts for gold

If its for gold, then blizzard make money from people buying the tokens. Technically players are paying for boosts with real money, but Blizzard is the middle man. And that’s okay, apparently…

It’s the cancerous hellscape of capitalism where those whom enjoy making money and don’t see the fun in an adventure gets all the nuggets.

There’s a reason I farm transmogs and only enjoy leveling up to 60 but after that it’s a drag. There’s a reason I haven’t done a single m+ yet. It’s the weather. I know it’s acid rain.

Blizzard knows it too and they accept it fully. They accept having changed their principles to that of token sales above all. They are not designing the game to be a fun experience, but a hook to sell their tokens, because of the frustration of being “endgame geared”.

They design the game to be frustrating and secluded. They want us to judge eachother and to put eachother down, they love RIO and they love NOVA boosts.

Not everyone lives this life to make money. Not everyone loves his own ego so immensely that he must be a booster because of his capabilities.

I have 97-98% winratio in random bgs because I think it’s a fun testament to the fact that I’m a good player. I’m not one to singlemindedly hook up with only other good players outside that JOKE of a sphere that random bgs is. I only play with good players to achieve that winrating. But it’s a sadness.

I don’t go for m+ because I feel under pressure to time the key. It’s a horrible and unwelcoming experience.

Arena is a drag but I’ll boost you for free to 1400 rating, I’ve seen people pay 300k+ for that first tier of gear. Horrendous.

I don’t do raiding because it’s all so judgemental.

We people can’t help to put eachother down and we push eachother away. We have to pretend to be good or just stop playing for gear alltogether. There’s no push for love or inclusivity in this game anymore, it’s all doomed hellscape capitalism, and the sad part is that Blizzard is allowing this culture to fester on all of us. You should be ashamed.

Edit: And to those that can’t see the consequence of this trajectory. The weak shall not be allowed - they shall pay for their bread or starve. The strong shall survive and only them.
Ruthless and doomed. I welcome it because I am strong, but I know my enemy and that is GREED.

Ban pvp boosting yes.

Pve boosting though no. It doesn’t directly affect anyone.

When pve is designed to be unreachable for pvp players like myself that just wanna slay some dragons and relax and maybe get some loot the whole design is supposed to be frustrating and impossible to actually enjoy, if I could enjoy it I would do it so why can’t I enjoy it and also why is it so popular to get boosted in pve nowadays, don’t you see the connection between frustration and gold boosts? it’s really the worst in pve, that’s why I avoid something i love.

Ye-No.
Well… i don’t mind banning every single boost for gold except the mount boosts. They’re the only way for me to get them.

the main problem that all those boost are creating is you get a large player base that have 226 item lvl but they don’t play on the same lvl what give’s a lot of frustration.
you invite a 226 item lvl you look at his rio score and think he is ok but its a boosted character that play’s like a 200/205 so stop the boosting.

the spam in trade and the ads in lfg are already annoying
did same as you nzoth curve was for the mount
and sire for the weap token(got nothing)

unlike the others who use a boosted curve or carried rlo score
to get in keys and raid and mess up things i dont do that haha

Buying a boost isnt about buying a « skilled player « , its just buying a geared player to even the playing field.

Generally if you buy a boost to a certain rating, you wont drop afterwards because you will have the gear, and in shadowlands the gear difference being so massive, its an expac where gear matters so so so much more than player skill (case in point : litteral awc champions that ger stomped in in arena at 1.4 cr because they are gearing their 180 alts and end up against 210+ players)

My opinion on why they are banning real money boosting is because they wanna receive the money themselves. So gold boosts are allowed because people have to pay blizzz for token which can be sold for gold , which is then used for boosting. The whole implementation remains almost the same , the difference is that all the money goes to blizz so why forbidding it if that’s just another “gold” mine for them ? Hehe greedy blizzzzzz

Because the gold goes to third party companies which sell the gold on websites for cheaper than the amount you would get from selling a WoW-Token on the auction.

Simple. Players need lots of gold to buy a boost to gear up and Blizzard sells WOW tokens for real money. Blizzard does not want that real money to land in the pockets of players.

After addding that wowtoken years ago, only way they can ban that boost for gold is that they ban gold from game. After that people boost for cash WTS for gold just disappear from finder but boosting for somekind currency not going anywhere

Because boost for money = booster gets the money
Boost for gold = boosted guy buys gold = blizzard gets money

I am tired of Greedy Blizzard. We are still paying a sub for a game that runs on a game engine that is almost 2 decades old as they are too stinghy to invest in their own game and yet they find ways to milk the players for more money. The fact that we actually need to pay other players for boosts in order to get decent gear is an all time low for Blizzard. If you are new to Shadowlands you will soon learn the reward vs effort ratio is seriously off and getting into groups to get proper gear is next to impossible. I am just playing till my sub runs out. I might even jump ship to another game before that as I am actively looking for a game to replace wow with! AND I am tired or roaming this stupid dead realm with nothing exciting to do!! And where is the fallen King Varian??? Thought we would have bumped into him?

I put it this way. You start shop and start selling stuff there then after while someone comes to your shop and start selling your stuff in your shop to your customers but not give any money to you but keep that money himself. Then comes another and another and do you same

Retail nowadays gives real private server vibes…

person buys a wow token, gives gold to a booster
booster sells gold on third party website, blizzard lose out on money

or person buys boost with cash from third party website
third party company also sells boost for gold from in-game advertisements
website boosting company pays boosting team with gold,

boosting company makes more real money than blizzard either way

is how it actually goes

Yeah but blizz at least is guaranteed to get their cut

This is the part that’s already being banned.

Also being banned.

Blizzard won’t ban boosting as a a general because it earns them money and is already too much of an established thing in WoW. Also it’s something very difficult to prove, I mean I regularly gamble for gold with friends, during our breaks in raids, so there’s a ton of trades that go 100k from one player to another, without anything in return and I regularly boost guildmates alts through keys for nothing in return. These things surely look like I’m being paid for boosting them, when in fact I am (sadly) not. Anybody can create similar arguments which make it near impossible to say for a fact whether somebody was being paid for boosts or not.

Thus it won’t get banned as a whole. And to be honest, there should just be something to stop the spam, because that’s the only real issue with boosting.

Every other point people bring up always goes back to the argument “oh but boosters and boosting communities all are part of real money trading anyway!” which is possible, but every single person who has made this argument has yet to provide any proof, which they then can easily forward to Blizzard, who will take matters into their hand whenever given any proof.
