Most people buying boosts are alts of good players who just want to gear up quicker .

Yeah. I mean people buy boosts for all kind of reasons. Either because they don’t have time to spend since they have a lot of alts, or because they dont play M+ usually and they want the mount and that’s all, or because they can’t find groups.
WoW token is needed for people who live in countries where you earn 500 euro a month as a normal salary. Or for people who don’t work and can make gold ingame to buy gametime this way.
Back in BFA i bought some leather stacking for my druid made them all loot in boomkin spec just to catch up after a 3 month break and people on the forums knowing my old main know full well i am more then capable of doing the job myself just would have taken longer .
Boosting is a service and needs its own set channel in chat and own set group ing LFG tool .

wow was fine before the token, now it has given people gold who should not have it.

The token when fresh out was 25,000 gold and was meant for another way for people to be able to paye to play .
It was a great idea .

Only shows how well you are doing on the money department in real life. Unfortunately not everyone is as wealthy as you.
Even though I never liked the WoW token myself, I understand why it’s in the game, and especially for places where the average income is relatively low, it helps people keep their addiction up without losing on valuable money.
It also made buying gold with real life money much less of an issue.
And then came WoD & Legion mission tables and inflated the gold price to oblivion and beyond. The WoW token never recovered.
Whether or not one liked the token, the real issue with it were mission tables giving players millions, if not billions of gold.
well it sure worked out great, such a good idea.

WoD mission table with a full rosta of healers with tripple gold trait just printed new gold like you said and people ran atleast 12 of those tables with alts as there was nothing else to do in WoD .
You do not come first in anything hence you do not win
You do not get CE first or curve or ksm or rank 1 arena first thus you do not win .
