Time to change old expansions rare and WQ spawn rate

As someone that hunts achievements collects pets mounts and all that it is kind of hard to justify spending hours camping rares in SL/BFA/and other zones while we have current content stuffs to do. Some of these rares have 1-2 hours spawntime. I think should be reduced to 15-30 mins tops. Can only loot them once a day anyway what does it matter? I farmed these rares and have hundreds of attempts when the content was live but simply was unlucky to get them. I don’t miss a lot just a couple but spending 5+ hours on camping 5 different rares every day is just not ok. Only change the ones that are older expanison. It is different when the content is live because we spend hours in these zones and catch their spawns easily or simply hop to another realm but you can’t do it when the next expansion is out. One could argue that they are rare for a reason but don’t be naive. Camping 2 hours for 1 monster spawn is not content.

Some WQ’s needed for achievement specificaly RNG based ones could be changed for a much frequent rotation as well. For example I’m missing one color of panther for a WQ in Stormsong Valley. Haven’t seen this WQ up for months and even if it is up I get a color I already have. Sure I missed a lot of spawns due to not checking simply because forgot about it or wasn’t subbed in. Sitting on this achievement 4/5 for like 2 years now. How many more years do I have to wait until I can get it?

There are other achievements which are impossible to do now. For exmaple SL/BFA Tour of duty achievements each zone is pretty much undoable due to no one is doing pvp content in these zones. They could add honor reward for the BFA assaults. Around 50 honor each WQ or something. Is supply drop still a thing in BFA or was deactivated once SL went live? Not sure about Tour of duty in SL zones though since there is no assaults nor supply drop there.

i gotta tell you nothing is more fun that afk waiting for rustfeather to spawn

No
not even 15 mins
it should be instant 10 seconds tops for respawn for old rares and world bosses

At this point, yeah… ok maybe not 10 seconds, but rather just a normal mob respawn time which is like 1-2 mins?

Otherwise I assume it’d be extremely annoying for people leveling around there.

I agree, legacy rares should spawn as if the player is the only player in the zone and all it drops have 100% drop rate. Of course we know that neither of these is true in most cases, and this is why a compensation of fast respawn/high rare availability should be in place.

If I spent 5 hours per day camping rares, I would uninstall the next day tbh. Are you retired or something?

That is the point why it needs changing. Simply not doable for a normal person. Other than that you can still watch videos or play other games while wow is in the background but this should not be the way. This is the whole point of the topic but I see you failed to understand. Nobody said that I do camp 5 hours every day.

I agree but only if blizzard changes their terminology. A rare is a rare and what isn’t rare shouldn’t be called as such.

Rares on argus had like a 5 mins spwantimer from the beginning and nobody complained.

I always complain about post WoD “rares” not actually being rare. I just don’t do it often because I know not much will come out of it.

That in BFA content like Arathi and something else, they have the rares that once we kill them for each alt, then a week later they still aren’t silver rare and aren’t reset

If you don’t want to spend +5 hours a day camping rare then simply don’t do it.

You don’t have to collect everything! If you missed something, it’s okay.

No, I think the spawn timers are fine.

When you have rares like Soundless which have an 8 hour spawn timer with a 0.02% drop rate its supposed to give the sense that “I was there, I killed the rare and the mount dropped!”, rather than I camped it for 8 hours a day until it dropped.

you are lucky - this is a great improvement over camping for certain epic drops in Everquest - people camp certain mobs for literally weeks on end till it pops and is not a placeholder - and even then it may not drop the item u need! you kids have it easy! and get off my lawn !!

Id love that rares like fallen charger would get a more reasonable spawn rate as it’ll despawn if not killed & the mount it drops isnt even a guaranteed drop.

I agree with that, they need to make the spawn rates from older expansions faster.

You failed to understand the poitn as well. When the expansion is live you can cross over other realms and find the rare fast also treasure hunter discord made it really easy to kill soundless daily or simply when you had to do dailies and farm in nazjatar it was easy to catch rare spawns naturally but now you spend that exact time in dragon isles not nazjatar.

Legacy expansions rares needs changing because simply impossible to justify camping 1hour per rare everywhere while we have live content to do elsewhere.

Well that’s more of a side-result of Shard and Cross Faction. It wasn’t specifically designed for that purpose.

And Soundless is still easy to farm daily. It’s on a very strict 8 hour timer and is usually killed instantly. That means if spawns at the same time every day.

Still I don’t really see the problem. Just play the live content, and if you see a rare kill it as you pass it. If you’re sitting for an hour waiting for the rare to spawn, you only have yourself to blame when you miss out on enjoy the game.

This was by far the best model for ‘rares’. They followed this up with Arathi / Darkshore, which had good drop rates (2-4%), and instant spawn timer.

People were obviously not logged in / subbed for long enough since they got their shinies too fast, and ever since, it’s the old crap ‘Wait 2 hours for a rare for your 2% drop chance’ model.

Fully agree with the OP, or even better, make it the same system as it was before.
