Time to make Wow for introverts?

Ah, makes sense!

You, my dear friend, just won the internet.

I’d consider myself an introvert, yet I have no problem talking or interacting with other players in-game, and neither does anyone I’ve met, even though some of them are extremely socially awkward in real life and can’t handle social situations at all.

Well, suppose I haven’t met those people because they don’t want to be met. But still, it is a little difficult to understand why you’d want a single-player experience in a game that is designed around social interaction. There are better single player experiences out there, you know.

Final point. The game can’t be both a MMO and a single player game. We have to choose one direction. And seeing as WoW is and always has been a MMO game, it would be extremely odd for Blizzard to start designing the game around avoiding social interaction, or trying to turn it into a single player experience. I mean, why? Most of us play WoW because we want to interact with others. If you don’t, that’s fine. But don’t demand that the game should be designed around you so you can avoid other people better when doing content.

Just your everyweek troll bait post.

1/10.

Is he the bomb? She is a Thralls bit**, nothing powerful about Jaina
My favorite dead hunter wifey is adorable and cocky as I like it
Thalyssra is hitting on the most handsome and wise man around which is a smart move
Talanji is broken hearted girl who is hanging around champion all the time like she wanna lick him
Anduin is a little teenage girl, so I have no interest in her
So far no toxic ladies?!

Alliance got fat people which look even more Goofy than regular which is very alliance and represent them well.

Oversimplification and perhaps even in the wrong direction. Afaik it is more that they want to be alone at times to recharge after certain interactions or activities.

And WoW has the perfect mechanisms to do exactly that. You can level up to 120 without interacting with anyone, do wqs alone, horrific vision etc etc.

You aren’t real introverts then. You’re pseudo-introverts. I.e. extroverts, who pretend to be introverts. Social interaction isn’t actually bad for introvert. But at the same time there are things, that make this game uncomfortable for introverts:

  1. Overcrowding, that brings that “stampede in public transport” feeling
  2. Competition, that is very close to conflicting and even violence
  3. Demand to rely on someone else, i.e. when you can’t do something on your own and have to find someone else to help you
  4. Putting social obligations on yourself

As I’ve already said, in the past game had more freedom for players, so they could avoid things, listed above. Quest areas were large enough, had enough mobs/items, player density wasn’t that high. But current locations are overcrowded by design. They’re small and packed. There is CRZ, that doesn’t let population naturally drop - it pumps players into location to drop number of physical shards to absolute minimum, causing intentional overcrowding. There is artificial mob/item deficiency. And there are forced group quest, like rares/elites, that require groups to be defeated. Even non-elite quest are sometimes so difficult, that they can’t be completed without group.

Introverts just don’t like overcrowding (too much interaction), conflicting (negative interaction) and relying on someone else (positive interaction). Even if those things are virtual. Just because introverts immerse themselves deeper into fantasy world, so for them virtual interaction is almost the same, as real one.

It’s always been like that I’ve played since it was released and FYI the original advertising was play solo or group up with others if you desire, simple as that!

Well dang. You all heard the man, no one fits his narrow and spesific the real, correct definition of introverts. Guess it’s better to openly admit being outgoing party lions.

Yeah they totally should disable damage meters, so there would be no shaming, like it is in Final Fantasy and partially also in ESO. Also make mythic raids purchasable from Blizz store, so that players would not need to go into guilds and interact with each other. No actually scrap that, make all content solo able, like it is in Fallout 76…woooh, you know what, remove textchat completely, like in Fallout 76. You know what? They should go even more like Fallout 76 and make gear totally RnG and BiS can drop from everywhere, while crafted gear is already good enough to do hardest content.

But you dont need other players for your pet battles. Shoo now, forum is discussion platform, no place for introverts.

Rofl, you do know that it is not black and white right? There is a huge grey-scale inbetween extreme-introvert and extreme-extrovert. So this perfectly shows how little you know about the subject.

Besides, it sounds more like you talk about people suffering from Social Anxiety and an unhealthy level of shyness, which both do not have to be related to being an introvert.

Are you, by any chance, a pshychologist?

This.
Topic is not about introvert at all.

Introverts are not unsocial. I am one.
Introverts have a brain that is much more stimulated by stuffs like sounds, weather and so on than extroverts and get tired much more easier when they are outside doing stuffs.

Introverts can easily play WoW content but not for too many hours.

Doesnt mean we cant raid or anything. But we gotta take a break.

Extroverts can play for 6 hours, we really like to take a break time to time.

Introverts can do content but I have to admit, doing it with some (not all, people are different) is quite annoying sometimes because I cant play WoW for more than 3 hours before taking a break.

Its after I play for 2 hours the mix with sounds, visuals and people talking on the mic I have to take a break for 30 minute.

And some people are all like ”but why? Stop being lazy” well let me tell you this: do you enjoy staying home during corona times?
Its unbearable for some of you right? Well thats how it feel after I play for more than 2 hours. Please dont get mad if we want to take a break.

Its not we who do it, its our brain that needs a bit of a rest. Its like if someone gets hungry, you cant stop getting hungry if you want to by just using brain power:3

If that’s your take on being an introvert, you don’t know what it’s like to be introvert.

For introverts it’s draining to be in social interactions, and based on myself and lots of other people I know are introverts, we all have a ton of interactions online, it’s not even close to being as draining when meeting people in RL.

I can actually play for hours and hours  Especially in my small M+ group. Raiding is somewhat heavy, yeah.

I have 0, nada problems with staying at home. I can work very well at home and it seems i am even more productive here  It is so relaxed i really get into it and have big bursts of productivity that will never happen in the office.

Have you played Swtors last two expansions?
It’s like paying a sub for a single player game. Some content can’t even be done with 2 people. Whilst at the start the game was all about 2-4 people playing together.
I really don’t want WoW to go into such a direction. Unless it’s a pay once play the expansion forever kind of set-up. Which won’t happen anytime soon.

This has nothing to do with being an introvert, sounds more like over stimulation of senses. Possibly be related to the autism spectrum?
