At this point I think we can all agree that this is getting out of hand. Horrific visions and now especially the dastardly duos are getting timegated to death.
It’s frikking minor patch content and it’s absolutely insanely annoying. Blizz, you do NOT need to timegate everything for gods sake. If some people want to nolife a piece of minor patch side contect JUST LET THEM.
I think the problem is the patch as a whole is already timegated. So when we do get the individual events we want to have access to them as a whole. Not have even more timegating upon timegating.
“We’re experimenting and trying different approaches to live-service events, different things that come and go,” Hazzikostas said. “We have our mainstay of a seasonal rotation, raid tiers, etc. that are the anchors of our major patches. But ultimately we’re trying to interweave different variety into those experiences and on top of those experiences.”
“A lot of those are going to be focused on the same sort of player motivation and goals,” Hazzikostas said. “The thinking was, hey, it would be better for everyone and their time management—recognizing that we’re eight weeks into the season and there’s still a lot of people spending a lot of time in raids and dungeons and chasing those goals—if we didn’t dump all this on you at the same time, and could spread it out a little bit to let each one have its moment to breathe.”
“Understandably, players are accustomed to patch day being the day when everything drops,” Hazzikostas said. “We hear the feedback loud and clear. It’s quite possible we got the balance wrong this time, and that there’s too much that is being delayed and not enough that’s available up front.”
wow is burning you out rather than keep you enaged. seasonal content and ilvl wipes are detrimental to the game. all expansion items should be usable in all expansion (eg raid 1 items should have use in raid 3 )
I actually aprecieate the release plan. Events are spaced out over the patch so it’s not overwhelming and the weekly bite size chuncks I find great for weekly engagment.
I can also fully see how people would want to burn through everything in 1 week, but where is the fun in that?
That would make sense if everything wasn’t individually timegated on top of the timegated releases.
It’s the timegating upon timegating. Like pick one thing and do that. Either release it all at once with timegated steps within each. Or timegate the three events and let us do them in full.
You say there was so little to do, but i’m still doing Nightfalls for TMogs.
Now that Duos is out i’m actually gonna struggle to complete is in 6 weeks along side Visions and NF.
They should at least give people an expansion to complete things .all they do is come up with these nasty timegated stuff that only lasts for few weeks and not even months in some cases .
What an absolutely horrible idea. The fact that you would make a suggestion like that just shows how little you understand of the game AND the players who are in it.
I agree. I have not even stepped foot inside any duo thingy. I dont care. I would rather go herbing or mining as i find that more enjoyable.
Some people like to play M+. Blizzards must think that if stuff is not time gated or RNGeed that people will not play this game or unsub. They have no idea and dont even know that some people will still push keys just for pushing keys sake.
But we all know that the time gates are for subscription fee purposes. Same goes for RNG. I dont think that RNG is actually RNG but they apply different rates to different people depending on that persons is on the forums.
Critical of blizzard. Your RNG numbers hit the dumps and you get nothing, ever. I am one of those. I have to highlight weird RNG before my luck starts to get better.
