Can you guys stop making tiny shields please.
I really like the Grunt’s Buckler, but it is tiny!
It would look good on my bigger warriors, and not just on a Vulpera.
Well it is a buckler? That said I’ve noticed a lot of the larger shields start clipping with the gloves and shoulder piece 3D elements. Quite noticeable on dwarf.
They are meant to be small and light weight not like “proper” shield’s
Definition of a “Buckler” according to google:
- a small round shield held by a handle or worn on the forearm.
Its like people do not read before posting.
Oh, I did read your post. You just didn’t put a word-by-word explanation from a general public source. So I thought I do that for you
Thought you be to busy being boosted by your priest friend doing m+ but ty for helping i guess
You do realize I play a fair share of M+ regularly alone with publics? Having competent players pre-made in a group before going into the LFG tool to find very likely less competent players for your group to fill, is not an uncommon thing.
But I won’t deny that my friend and guild member is very good at this game in PvE.
Edit: And just as a sidenote, today we swap roles. She will heal and I will be the DD.
Yes, need full body covering shields so I do not feel unprotected in bikini armor (they should make more)
Im just happy they finally are giving us shields that are not geometrical nighmares or pieces of random things slapped together without any endgoal
Historically speaking, the bigger your shield the more useless you were as a warrior. You spend so much time absorbing blows to a huge shield you have no time to swing your weapon, your opponent simply keeps smashing your oversized and heavy shield and before you know it you’re exhausted and then you’re dead.
The smaller your shield, the more agile you were.
This is partly why i play human
Biggest shield to character ratio without clipping issues
You guys are right about the meaning of the word buckler.
You are also right about historically in real life bucklers were easier to fight with than big shields.
However this is a game, and in this game it is all about looking effing awesome.
Not all bucklers are tiny in this game:

I would really like if Grunt’s Buckler could be made bigger.
The Grunt’s Buckler is an orc shield.
Which they do not need.
Because they are orcs.
RAWR.
If you look at old Warcraft art you’ll see that grunts either have no shield or a small shield. In either case they have a colossal axe.
Footmen, by contrast, have a shield larger than their torso.
Think it had more to do with whether you were heavy or light infantry. Spears and shieldwalls were kinda popular.
In the tooltip it says “Sword and board for the Horde!”
Ok that’s nice.
Zugzug
I like it. I already mogged it, in my Orc Warrior shield.
I love the fact it was free thanks to the Trial of style week
The Alliance version of the shield is bigger, as it should be. Humans prioritize defence, while Orcs prioritize attack.
This week is full of Alliance/Horde items.
I loved it. I have 2 BEs with Alliance cosmetics.
Cheers.
I don’t like small shields. Seems to defeat the purpose of a shield.
