Tips for new healer

Hello guys, I am playing wow since dreanor, I was playing pvp mainly from times to times for fun. I reached once 1980 ratio and that was my max. I was thinking to start playing something serious but when I am checking how other people heals and how its their ui looking I am getting confused, any ideas how to make it easy? they are using like macros to skills for targets etc. When I am watching their ui it seems like they have only like 5-6 skills only but 5x the same skill. Can anyone explain me how to start ? I am playing holy priest. Any addons or something ?

When people have many of the same spells on their action bars, its usually to track the cd more easily. So they’re other spells macroed to look like an important cd spell.

Most top arena healers play with a very basic ui - in pve its another story. The most important things to have:

  • big, clean raid frames
  • bigdebuffs addon
  • keybinds to target party1 and 2
Id recommend making macros for /target party1 and 2 so you dont accidentally target pets with the default party targetting keybinds

Other useful things/addons:

  • losecontrol
  • sArena/gladius
  • omnibar, tracking enemy cds
setting up omnibar properly helps a lot. Id recommend making different bars for cc, interrupts and offensive cds and make sure you dont track more cds than you can handle
  • omnicd, tracking teammates cds
  • weakauras, can do almost anything in terms of tracking buffs and cds
I use it mostly for my own buffs, such as fade and guardian
  • tellmewhen, easy to set up dr trackers, so you know when you can get cc’ed again
