If it’s for gold I don’t think it’s technically against any rules. Obviously rmt is bannable but otherwise 
Technically you can only ask for tips gold when advertising on service trade channel .if you are putting a group lfr or lfg and you are putting things such as tip .
Then that is bannable offense on repeat violation .I have already confirmed with gm through ticket .

Rules are not set-in-stone, they change over time. Can we agree that asking for gold in exchange for M+ group invites should not be in the game and especially not in LFG?

Tips are not allowed in the group finder. You can advertise with other boosters in Trade Services though.

Ofc they will not get banned. They get chat restriction and light penalties if they use the LFG tool to advertise.
Most of them also changed to just list their keys and write in note “tip appreciated” or something, which technically is not against the rules.
No, the thing that is against the rules is advertising in the LFG tool. People that use it to advertise services, recruit people in guilds, or offer their keys for gold (in this case), are going against the rules.
