Tip/tricks for a completely new tank? (prot. warr)

Hello, I recorded a one heroic dungeon of me for the first time tanking as I protection Warrior I’ve never played before.

Can you give me some advices and tips what I did horribly wrong etc?

Thank you.

Tanking isn’t too complicated in theory. You pull mobs, you keep aggro on you, you try to stay alive, and there are usually some boss mechanics you have to manage (lead it to somewhere, keep it faced away from your party, stay in melee range of fixed location bosses etc.)

It didn’t look like the dungeon was particularly challenging for you. Especially once you get to higher difficulties you’ll want to test your limits, see how much you can pull without having to use major defensive cooldowns, and if you’ll want to push your limits in m+ you’ll need to learn to use at least some defensives for big pulls and not hoard them all for a rainy day.

Warriors also have Shockwave so don’t be afraid to use it. If you see like 3+ mobs casting something you can use it to interrupt them. With time you’ll learn which mobs are more valuable to stun and which ones are immune to it and you shouldn’t bother.
