Tired of answering what my GS is 100 times a day

If GS is everything then just make a system so people can see what your GS is before is in groupfinder.
I’m so sick and tired of answering it 100 times a day to people who ask.

It is not, but just like many things players want to set some metric to cut off people with - that is why GS and later iLVL was made into the core part of the game.

There are addons for that, though I can’t remember if it can only inspect locally or sends a message upon GS/invite requests.

Not a bad idea actually. The players will do it anyways via addons or in other ways, so just make it a baseline in-game function like it has been in Retail for years

GS doesn’t work in classic. It just NOT work. Gs is designed for WOTLK or later expansions. In classic it doesn’t work. You can get 900 and maybe even close to 1k GS just from scarlet uniform gear from AH, but:

  1. It doesn’t have any set bonuses. But set bonuses are core part of the game for many classes, so even t1 or t2 (that have lesser GS then crafted scarlet gear) will be better.
  2. It doesn’t have tanking or healing stats, but tanks or heals can still use it to inflate GS but absolutely won’t be able to play their role in this gear.

Except of crafted gear, we have many other problems, such as ony neck abuse, and others, but main reason is that in classic not always higher ilvl gear = better (many classes use previous tier sets in their bis/prebis, or sometimes even preraid gear such as HoJ that also has updated version in SoD for quest). So, i dont think that GS is good metric in classic or SoD, it works properly only in WOTLK or later expancions (and even there it can be abused with other spec gear, but okay in general it works because in WOTLK its true that higher ilvl = better gear in 99% situations, but in classic this logic just doesn’t work).

No it isn’t. at least not in pugs. not in this rotten community’s brain that learnt to play around false numbers, be it gs or parses. yes yes i know, you can post walls of text/logs proving your point. Yet, noone will inv you based on that, so it just a gs number. Community made it that way for pugs.
