Tired of grinding? Well Blizzard doesnt care

"What is up with this event? " is probably going through your head right now as you sit down and do the math for the tokens you can get .
You have a job? Well you should take some time off cause you will need to spend some serious time on this.
You got a family? Go get milk
But on a more serious note, why make a chore out of this? Its supposed to be a fun event that you can relive old nostalgic events.
Instead we get a grindfest of an event where you need a spreadsheet to calculate how many tokens you can get per week.
I was thinking that it would be like something more “friendly” to the player where we can farm abit and get the set. I was planning on getting all the sets but how can somebody even do that.
Please change this and make it easier for us. We cant be on the game fulltime.

How often do the quests reset?

Thank god I dont play alts or care much for tmogs unless it looks crazy good. I am going to farm the mounts/pets toys and achievements and I am done.

well from what i read is that the tokens are gained weekly and are on a once per warbound claim. So you cant farm them on alts…

I hate how every single freaking weekly drops them. Why can’t they just put all in a big weekly? What is wrong with them? I don’t wanna do machine speaker with 615 ilvl. And no, I don’t wanna do it on alts either, as I don’t play to do delves on them

I hope this restart will make them reconsider the prices on the sets, and make it cheaper and easier for all of us. 10 a pop and a handshake. Get 1 per week if you do those weeklies it should be easy as that.

I have a crazy suggestion.

What if, and try and follow me here, Blizzard actually made the Anniversary Event fun rather than a list of chores and faceroll timewalking dungeons.

What if the event to celebrate 20 years of the defining MMORPG was characterised by actually fun gameplay and activities that players might actually be excited to play as often as possible, instead of using a spreadsheet to min-max their chore grind.

I don’t think players would be as concerned about the length of the grind if they were actually looking forward to the activities involved.

What would be fun for you? I feel like your definition of “fun” will not necessarily align with other people.

I went to the event grounds this evening on my Hunter and I saw all the Blue Quests pop up and the vendors neatly grouped in the centre. I then opened YouTube and one of the Thumbnails was for a 25 minute video on how to optimise the grind to get all the rewards, and I just sort of groaned a bit internally.

Maybe this is actually the most appropriate way to celebrate WoW’s 20th birthday.

Anything that isn’t more chores that I do while putting something on the second monitor to actually entertain me.

I haven’t seen anyone suggest they are excited to actually play the Anniversary Event, only to get their hands on the rewards.

The most optimistic response I have personally seen is: “Maybe Blizzard will nerf the grind like with MoP Remix and I won’t have to do as much of it.”

If this is in any way representative of the sentiment towards your game’s 20th anniversary event, something has went wrong at a fundamental level.

You have 3 months almost .there is plenty of time .unless you are the impatient type who wants everything to fall in your lap 1st week .there is enough time to gather and redeem for rewards

That’s not the game’s fault. You didn’t explore the event on your own, you decided to watch a video to explain it to you. You didn’t start playing, you looked for a guide for optimal grinding and spending.

You get discount after getting 1st and 2nd set. The rest will be 20 tokens.

First read the blue post before qq.

Also pretty sure blizz gonna increase token numbers later on. Like they did with prepatch event currency.

If they’re going to increase them later, then they might as well increase them now.

There is no reason for why Blizzard should deliberately withhold a change that would be for the benefit of players.

Well you’re in luck cause awakening the machine doesn’t even seem to be available

It is. The quest is at speaker and not at kobold like it used to be.

Maths you barbarian

It’s not mathmatic…

To be honest. They could have just capped the weekly amount you can gain and then let people choose what activity to cap it on.
I like dungeons and rarely pvp. Let me spam dungeons to cap.
Someone else only plays pvp. Let them pvp to cap.
A lot of people will still go for the easiest way.
But at least they have the choice.

Really dont understand people
It’s not a grind, you make it a grind. If you feel the need to get all the sets and all the pets and all the mounts, and all the… it’s a you problem
What you gonna do with that set for a class which is a 14th alt you barely ever play ?
