Just now M15 becomes raiders game, not the game for those, who loved M+’
I always loved M+ as alternative to raiding and gearing alts. Now it seems a bit unfair towers those, who like pushing M+ keys, but not fan of mythic raiding. I know quite many 20+ key runners, who really dont fancy raids, nor they are really caring of ilevels, but they sure are good players, who deserve their spotlight in M+ score ladders.
It’ll take a few weeks to settle though. Once the M+ starts to show a divide between Mythic Raiders and rabble, then you’ll see a LOT of people moaning about runs not happening. Because that’s how loud minorities work.
Some numbers: Despite having cleared over 120 runs on 10+ difficulty in S3, and with TF, I still have 430 trinkets, both, 435 shield and 435 legs. I have opened a 10 chest in every single lockout in 8.2.
Being that I gave away a 445 BoE cloak I picked up in EP Mythic it turns out that I have only 3/4 items which are better than HC/M+ chest quality will drop. How this is a problem for some raid or die heroes is beyond me.
So clearly TF is not really a big problem or game breaker many would have you believe. However for someone like me who’s happy to raid at my guild’s own pace M+ is, was, a nice alternative to gear up and be comparably well geared.
Do people really play m+ and especially the higher keys for loot? I don’t really know anyone that pushes keys for loot. They just do it because they enjoy the strategic parts and pushing themselves to the limit. That is absolutely what I do at least. My characters are gear capped for a long while and I still do multiple m+ runs every week.
We push weekly a lot of keys. We play indeed for the fun and challenge. But since this is the only content we do, it is also the gearing-content. We don’t do it for the gear but without the gear we would get nowhere.
The weekly chest will be still a thing in the next expansion, right? In that case, mythic raiders will have an easier and faster time gearing up for higher keys, but the ilvl difference will be only 5 in the end and not 15, so i’m sure people will still be able to do only mythic+ if they want to. It sucks though that the elitist group of this game was so pissed about the ilvl of other people instead of minding their own progression that they managed to make Blizzard cater to them and reduce the point of doing the most played content in the game. The removal of titanforging removes a tons of replayability from the game which sucks for an mmo. Having a reduced titanforge chance and a cap would’ve been a better solution imo.
I can’t believe so many people were duped into wanting titanforging removed, because it’s the best thing that ever happened to casuals and non-raiders. People like Asmongold complained about titanforging because it hurt their epeen when non-raiders had equivalent gear. Mythic raiders wanted it removed because they didn’t like it that non-raiders had a chance at getting mythic quality gear. If you think Blizzard is going to give a sure chance at mythic gear each week for non-raiders you’re delusional. Now that titanforging is gone the game can go back to being raid or die. Thanks complainers.
There are a few factors we do not know just yet. So far it looks like mythic gear will be better if you get the corruption affix that is good for your class. Seeing as how strong the 3% crit damage boost is on the benthic boots a heroic level corrupted item with the crit damage boost will easily beat a mythic level item.
The only piece of gear which will stand out will be weapons and off-hand items, but these Blizzard generally puts on to the first few mythic bosses, so even if it is not the best solution those doing M+ can get weapons relatively easily.
Right now they added an item that is (so far) purchasable from Wrathion that you can use to add a socket to a corrupted item. This can also help increasing the power of M+ drops since sockets are really powerful right now, and will be in 8.3.
The only real downside I can see is that you might get behind in HP, but the difference will not be much. M+ pushing will still be viable for non-mythic raiders.
The official post isn’t really well worded, but it does say that any Season 4 gear will not titanforge or warforge, but they may corrupt. That includes all sort of content.
Reading more into it it appears that high levels of corrupted gear is going to have drawbacks which might not even make it worth equipping. So we’re back to square one where mythic+ drops max gear that is 15 ilvls below mythic raiding.
