Yes, thank you. That commercial indeed says exactly this.
I can afford it, i just do not like rewards for that price nor i am interested. But asking to upgrade +40 EUR for an epic version just to have access to beta is nothing but greed.
Has Blizzard employed eyebrow raising tactics before to make money? Yes
Is granting âguaranteed accessâ to everyone who payed for the epic edition one of them? No.
Plenty of players who didnât buy will be sent invites for the beta. And it is also highly likely that a good bunch of the demographic who bought the Epic Edition wonât spend that much time in the Beta.
Speaking for myself, Iâd only want to test new DK talents and hero specs, give some feedback. Donât really want to explore the story, dungeons and raids. I want those to be fresh (and hopefully bug free) for when the game releases.
I actually love bug reporting, I like filling forms out and such. Though, I recognise I am strange little bean. I donât want to spoil the game, however.
I would have been great for bug reportng in the Cata Classic beta but I didnât get that until a week before launch!
I used to do that in all previous beta rounds I was invited to.
But after having seen the same issues reappear during the actual launch, I kind of gave up on it.
Even now I am not bothered by the Beta.
Didnât buy the special editions, and will just play when I get get access to it, or when it properly launches. Definitely not going to pay extra just to get a beta spot.
Just curious to see whether there is going to be another round of âExploit Earlyâ.
Yes, I was very disheartened to see what bugs I came across always made it to the game.
I didnât buy the special edition for beta or early access and I imagine the early access days will be an absolute mess.
Exploits will always happen, in any game. Itâs just what some people do, sadly. I am generally not that fussed as it is mostly a solo game for me with occasional fun with friends or family.
Epic edition includes a Mount, Transmog, Mini Pet, Toy, Hearthstone & 30 days game time.
Not including the 3 days Early access, & using current shop prices for the rest we get:
Game time = âŹ12.99
Mount = âŹ25.00
Transmog = âŹ20.00
Mini Pet = âŹ10.00
Hearthstone = âŹ5.00
Toy = âŹ5.00
Epic Edition includes âŹ77.99 of collectables.
The difference between Standard & Epic is âŹ40
So Early Access & Beta costs approximately - âŹ37.99
By this reckoning, they are paying us to Beta Test.
There was a beta signup ages ago, you donât even need a subscription to the game to get invited to the beta. Also, in MOP back in 2012 which was 12 years ago btw, beta access was given to everyone who pre-ordered the game⌠This is old news.
The bad stuff is giving early access to the launch of the game for premium buyers, like they did with Diablo 4 and like Iâm hearing they are planning for all future WoW expansions.
You pay for GUARANTEED access.
Players can still get access to the Beta by signing up for it.
