To everyone with the black screen problem

I know it’s not gonna help in many cases, but I updated drivers (Im using AMD Vega 8), logged out of Battle.net, restarted pc and went straight to WoW and it worked without time to wait.
Problem is that, as soon as I closed and tried to log in, it became black again.
So yeah, it might work but don’t exit the game lol.

pretty much sure you just got lucky :stuck_out_tongue:

welcome to betalands. the game is just broken in its current state, thats all there is to it.

Doesn’t seem to be driver related as a multitude of people are complaining about this on the forums. I tried it on two separate machines with different hardware and the result is the same, a black screen upon getting to character selection.

If anyone was wondering, this is part of the reason why Shadowlands was pushed back. Beta is still filled with these issues.

ok here we go guys i think i found a solution

all you have to do, is do 3 cartwheels with an exact oscillation time of 1.34 seconds, right after that, you need to make a bowl of cereal, milk FIRST this is very important, then you pour the bowl of cereal over your PC, dance a rain dance, solve the riemann hypothesis and uninstall windows 10 and install arch linux

that should fix it

I can confirm that this works 100%

Nonsense.

Everyone knows it’s 1.24 seconds and then a give yourself a high five. This seal’s the pact!

Last time this happened it was in beta raid testing, the black screen on character selection is due to Data base corruption on blizz ends(this is what they said). Im 100% positive it’s something in regards to pretty much the same thing.

I don’t find threads such as this helpful. It’s disingenuous to point the finger at folks PC’s regarding an obvious login server issue and say, “it’s a l2driver problem”. Everything worked fine half an hour ago. It’s not working now. Pretty obvious it’s not a driver issue or any other such guff.

The hardest choices require the strongest wills.

it just kills the time, why don’t we start another real world sensitive topic thread to discuss???

This is completely 4 head, lolwat.
I didn’t say it was a drivers problem.
Im telling people WHAT I DID IN ORDER.

Most people always have their drivers up to date, i do as well, so it’s not the issue. Especially when this morning everything was fine and the nothing in the game changed since then. It’s just the usual stuff that happens. Blizzard doesn’t expect that this many people would (try to) log in after they come home from school or work and the servers crap themselves.

It’s unlikely to be drivers, I was fine until I foolishly tried to change toons. Now I’m looking at a black screen.

I updated my drivers this morning for entirely unrelated reasons. I’m having the same problem, so I dare put the idea to bed right here and now.

Honestly the rain dancing sounds more viable to me.

I don’t know if its a joke or what. But i just updated my Nvidia video driver , and i straight got in lol… Or just go lucky. But i did ALT+F4 few times and still manage to get in. Before i had all the time black screen…
