I’ve left a Mythic+ twice, that is it.
The first time the DPS DK leader respecced blood about 2 mins into the dungeon, the only other geared person besides myself was a mage who was doing about half of my DPS, and the DK tank kept pulling aggro so we wiped.
I said “I’m not wasting my time here, bye” and quit.
The second time was after the 7th wipe on the 2nd boss in Waycrest Manor, basically said the same thing, “not wasting my time here, it’s a +4 it should be easy” and quit.
You think I am the griefer in those situations?
This is the same logic as people who say “If you have nothing to hide then why do you want encryption?” when talking about data protection.
There’s already a super simple fix: run with people you trust. Build relationships. Join guilds. Join communities.
Pugging comes with risks, leavers are one. Don’t want leavers? Don’t pug.
We already have the fix, y’all calling for penalties are simply too lazy to build relationships.

If your life doesnt allow you to play for 40mins without disconnecting, maybe you shouldnt be playing m+ nor raids.
The punishment im talking about would be towards LFG.
Im talking in general btw, not about your case.
Often people underestimate how important trust is in life.
Even the value money we use irl is based on trust

Why you keep insisting in blaming the people who did nothing wrong and just wanted to play?
I’m not the one who want to punish the innocent with flawed systems.

How am I not this person in the two scenarios I mentioned in my last post?
I will not be held hostage by people who don’t care to actually perform well.
I left other people keys first only 2 times, out of hundreds finished dungeons. Yet i am firmly against any sort of leaver penaltym because leaver penalty won’t do anything
If ‘leaver’ doesn’t want to continue dungeon he/she won’t continue. He/she would go off and log on other char or simply afk untill removed or dungeon ‘finished’.

What if they have to leave if example guild raid starts ? penalty of leaving will meen they cant join guild raid …
In their case though I would have to question their foresight in getting in a M+ group within an hour of their guild raid. But I get what you mean

A +4 should take no more than 20 minutes though, an hour? That is excessive. They should not be punished for their group being slow / wiping half a dozen times.
You aren’t supposed to do mythics with random strangers you picked up in the lfg tool. You’re supposed to do it with friends and guildmates. Every stranger you invite to your group adds a layer of risk to your group, and composing the group is part of the challenge. If people leave? It’s part of your own fault for inviting them in the first place.

I will tell you 2 experiences I had just yesterday. I was playing with 2 friends, so we were a group of 3.

We are in a +9. Tank has 3500 rio on main. He pulls everything and we die. He says “lol you re all so bad” and he left.
-
We start a +11. 2mins later a dps leaves without saying nothing. We keep going as 4 and we finish it, but the key drops to +10.
In both cases my friends and I were the ones creating the group. We just want to push our keys to see how far we can go.
Why are those people not punished? Why do we have to keep upgrading our key when it dropped due to leavers?
You were getting trolled in both scenarios you mentioned. And thats a different problem with a much harder fix =)
Some times the penalty can grief ur game play aswell …
There is sutiations like:
Your in a LFG you DC and it happends to take abit longer to log in back maybee server is slow you come back on you been kicked out from LFG and have a 30 min penalty just from DC ? how is that fair ?
The penalty would be towards LFG tool. You would still be able to do m+ and raids with your guild.
When I join a premade, I ask the leader where their priorities are (timer, loot, weekly) and I’ll only leave if the group is abusive or way too bad to complete the key in a reasonable time, and in all of bfa I left like… 5 groups.

Ok, so our community should stop making their groups with the LFG-tool

That’s ironic because the abusive one is YOU when you destroy someone else’s key, and now you want zero consequences.
The easier fix is not inviting strangers to your keys. Make friends with people you’ve had good experiences with, join communities for mythic plus, and go with guild mates.

I just meant to say that it is good planning to be prepared for setbacks instead of a perfect run with strangers.
As the dwarf said, every stranger adds a layer of risk (which as much as I hate to admit it can be estimated by the Raider io score of that person.)
