Just a quick thread to talk about the ToC HC emblem count (this is the emblems that are 1:1 exchanged for HC Tier-9, that drop from the Chest after 5/5 HC ).
2 tokens drop per week for 25 attempts, 2 more for 45, if a perfect attendance guild of 25 people clear it every week, that’s 25 weeks - nearly 6 months - until they all have tier set.
I understand that not everyone will get “Full BiS” every patch, but 2/4 tokens seems low. I’d argue at least 4 should drop for 25 attempts or more, and another 2-4 for 45 attempts (so 6-8 total per week).
The only emblem options available at vendors for many classes aren’t worth it - the iLvl is low and depending on the class, the set bonus is a flat-out waste.
Remember these tokens are class specific as well, so the chances of a whole guild getting their tier set in 6 months is practically 0 due to the RNG nature of this.
Agreed tbh. I suspect the phase is not gonna last for 6 months anyway. The game went past #nochanges long time ago, so might aswell give people a realistic chance to complete their tier sets this time around.
I mean you don’t HAVE to. But it’s a nice feeling to enter the new phase with atleast a full tier set from the previous raid, imo. Also, a complete tier set is not really the equivalent of full bis in every possible slot.
Not saying everyone needs to be full BiS - but past tiers offered 2 tokens for badges, that’s kind-of-an-option here but the item levels are so low compared to the heroic loot that i would already guess most people don’t need badges from triumph.
Maybe making tokens available for a LARGE amount of triumph would be a good way around this?
It takes roughly less than a month to get enough emblems to get the full 245 set, you take the 258 once as they drop as a upgrade but having full tier is more than easy enough, and you wont need full 258 at the start of the next phase so going for that is just a bit excessive
The inflated item level from Ulduar has made the 245 set not worth it for most people.
No one is asking for anything “for free”. Just to make it reasonable for people to get tier items that aren’t a downgrade.
The entire point of an extended Ulduar with buffed item levels was to keep it relevant, that’s great. but the knock-on-effect is that top end ToC gear is now much more in demand, and the supply is considerably lower than in previous tiers.
That mostly depends on how good their tier bonus is, and how well itemized the other items are as well. For example as a warrior tank, the worse stats is clearly worth it for the CD reduction on shield block.
If you were using 4/5 tier before 245 will be a upgrade if you were not most likely it will still be a upgrade if your 4/5 tier bonus is good. It wont be BiS but it will still be a upgrade over what you had before the tier started, and if your bonus is not great then you can grab off pieces anyways.
Dont actually think it was much extended, it was just a slightly long phase, but yes the buffed ilvl was to keep it relevant and for some gear it still is so they didnt fail on that, and the less of the best of the best gear people get the more relevant it will stay.
I kind of agree if they’re gonna make the phase short. Normally 2 tokens is enough for a single boss, but in this raid there is only one boss that drops them.
Don’t really care if the set it bis, though. I just want it for collection, like all other tier sets before it.
ToGC is so short that you can affort doing split raids if your alts are good enough. This way you can prioritise 258ilvl tokens to mains only and get em in reasonable time frame.
At the very least, it’s nice to see a red GearScore number. In full bis, you’ll be doing a lot of damage, which is also nice. Additionally, it earns admiration from other players, just like unique mounts.
Kinda ye, everyone just rolls BiS on them and our that’smybis list decides who gets it. My regalia has been scarce this far so I’m still at 0, even though some have gotten one.
