I mean come on, everyone needs that tang now and then! a thing of beauty, you don’t remember the original days, when a fizzy drink meant a fizzy drink, you could feel the enamel erode from your teeth. You ‘Classic Coke’ kids would never understand. It wasn’t a Fizzy drink unless you were imbibing full on Chernobyl juice! Proper stuff that would put hair on your eyeballs, and involved ingredients included in rat poison, but by gods you never needed a torch, because it glowed in the dark…As probably did your liver…

What about so called " sparkling water " ? 
Some lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg white and dry gin. First shake without ice, then add ice and shake again. Pour in a glass and top with the sparkling water. Enjoy!
