Today i learned attractive women play games

Alright, so story time. Basically i was dating a girl, she was 20, now she was very attractive, and funny etc. Il spare you the details, so basically we had meet eachother some times at this point, and almost always i brought her to my place. Until, recently, where i saw her house, [She lives with her family] so basically, we i go upstairs to the bathrom, and on my way i see this cool freaking game set, i play with a laptop myself, but this gaming set just looked god tier.

So i was like “Holy cow [Said a different word] thats some great gaming set, your brother certainly has a taste in is stuff”

And she gives me this look, you know a look that mentally slaps you, and says

“Thats not my brothers, its mine, i bought it myself”

She says it, and im standing there dumbstruck, thinking of what to say, for all my life i couldnt really imagine women being gamers, did i think they played games? Yes, but i thought it was like candy crush or something like that.

So i reply, with and yes i cringe thinking about this

“You know that you only need that to play heavier games right ?”

And this is where a fight started, dont worry i managed to solve it.

But has anyone ever come across a situation like this, from both perspectives? And how did you feel?

Yea, definetely. The thing is i was just raised in a place where gaming women wasnt just rarity, but something of myths. But i guess times are changing. Which is good, dodnt get me wrong this is not to bash on women. It was just a revelation for me, albeit a stupid one.

Lies. As everyone knows, guys who play WoW don’t date anyone, let alone attractive women. That’s basically the flipped generalisation you made yourself about female gamers.

And as we all know, absolutely EVERYONE who makes sweeping generalisations is an idiot. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As rare as it might have been for you, for me it was quite common to see women in gaming.

Just out of curiosity, where did you grew up?

Sweden, while i grew up, female gamers just wasnt there, and when i mean gamers, i dont mean people who play candy crush etc. I mean more PC games, etc.

Haha that’s even more weird to me.
I’m a Belgian but I ended up in Sweden few years ago (met my wife in WoW) and to me it seems even more common over here to find female gamers that are into PC gaming than in Belgium.

My wife and her friends (and friends of friends and such) are all gamers. As an idea what they were into for PC gaming back when they started: Delta force, Quake, Unreal,… (Time before that would have been the typical consoles: NES/SNES/SMS/…)

And ofcourse, when you said gamers I wasn’t thinking of people playing phone stuff. That stuff wasn’t around when I or my wife grew up :>

The thing is, it depends on where you grew up. I grew up in a more immigrant area in Sweden, so women playing games there wasnt there, due to how it was portrayed. The thing is, guys playing games was just a normal thing, it was just how things were. I was never really lonely, and ive dated here and there, but none of them have had played any big games, let alone having a gaming set, it was just the idea of a woman having a gaming set, that weirded me out at the time.

lol you didn’t know? i have met many insanely attractive women in wow (mostly goldshire doing RP). last i heard women make up like 25-30% of hardcore gamers so they arent nearly as rare as people think.

So just because you personally never met a woman who plays when you grew up means they are rare? :thinking:

Yes they exist, they just not do not spend their time declaring they are girls.
It is only when voice chat is involved that you find out.
Two of the better raiders in my guild are ladies.

Damm, I wish I met a gaming girl!

I love gaming its my passion yet didn’t find a girl who doesn’t try to make me end with my passion, so now I’m quite lonely at the moment. :disappointed_relieved:

Looking for the rare person, the one you met one time in your life and can share everything with you including your passion.

Come on. That’s hardly a surprise. There are plenty of attractive women that play video games.

If the story is real you probably blew your date with those stereotypical viewpoints.
