No, to presume one sex is incapable of something is sexist. No way around that.
I’m not out to hang anyone but I facepalmed at this thread when I saw it and cringed a lot.

Time is come heavy words falling like reinforced concrete. I was wonder when it happens. Some ppl have their beliefs, like as they earth flaters
Oh sorry I actually meant Dave Vanian [lead singer of The Damned] not sure how I got him mixed up with Draiman. Vanian was the one who typically wore a Vampire costume on stage.
Ah haha my mistake and it was odd to me that he had vamp costume xD
That is sign I must drink coffe…
Least the outcome OP came into was that of “I learned from this” rather than doubling down on archaic views, and with how stubborn people tend to be with their world views I’d say it’s rather commendable that one’s able to admit to being in the wrong.
Wow has a reasonable sized female playerbase so I’m always amazed that such archaic views exist. Worse still is that the female being pretty further discredited her from possibly being a gamer with a nice setup.
Women play games, they can be pretty too, some even stream. It’s like this person never even went on Twitch.
This is 21st century video games can play womens to. A perfect example

That is like you say no women cant have facebook or Instagram that is behind some greasy 30 old guy.
hahahahaha you’re a real commedian
I don’t disagree, but like the guy himself said, in his case it’s largely due to upbringing and the culture around.
If you’re taught certain views for a long time, you’re going to believe them, which is why I said that I’ll give the guy props for being willing to learn and better his world view.
Maybe if it was outside Central/Northern Europe I’d buy that excuse
A lot of youtubers say in videos that females don play wow… spreading propaganda Like Nixxiom , so I will quote Garfield… If is on tv must be true ( in this case it is internet ) xD
I’ve always assumed that most of the women who play this game are emo looking type, only due to that I’ve been in a number of Guilds over the yrs and nearly every girl in the guild who has a photo of herself on the forum or profile pic tend to be emo looking.
Clearly a good reason why I pay no attention to most youtubers
IDK, I think close-minded people are everywhere, especially in the older generations (just the people who would be in a position to transfer those views to their offspring who would be in their 20s-30s now).
I come across the view often enough in Finland that I’m willing to believe him at face value.
I mean, the thread is essentially an admittance of being wrong after all, so OP isn’t so close-minded that he couldn’t accept that women on the internet do in fact exist. Not defending his previous views, just wanna give him props for being willing to change them.
This is now the source of the problem. It is not problem in that female play video games…etc Problem is generally that we r like society still in middle ages. Where the woman is not still capable to do anything. Patriarchalism still rules. Where women must be in kitchen, making food, clean house and birth babies. Any woman who turned away from that road want to do something other, bigger she is feminist. But she is just person who have right like any man.
Society evolves at a faster pace than humans can adapt to it
Ah, didn’t think you were, sorry if I came across insinuating otherwise.
It’s not an excuse
Not an excuse, it’s the reason!
People in general find it hard to let go of their long held past beliefs, even at face of evidence that proves them wrong. Just kinda how our brain works. It’s gonna get better as more generations come though, but some people you just can’t change.
Someone mentioned Archaic views on women and I’d just like to point out that Archaic Asia [as in Asia before Coloniasm] viewed Woman as superior due to the ability to reproduce.
