Today is my last day - [Updated - OK, today is really the last day]

Odd, I found it easy as ret - easier than druid; and I main druid.

Zekvir or MT?

Mage tower. Did all classes + speccs for their weaps.

Idk, I mained ret back then and Sigryn was more difficult for me. Meanwhile on my druid I had barely touched feral and it had tank trinkets and I think it was 1-3 wipes before I killed Agatha.

Might have been patch dependant? If you attempted feral at a later date etc.
At the very end; some fights were very easy compared to their former state.

Oh yeah I did it during the Argus patch when I had more characters leveled up.

I had no idea how to feral but its the easiest MT I did and I didn’t do many.

I didn’t know how to play majority of speccs (like monk, I don’t play that class much - same goes for paladin outside of tank), and feral was my main; aka first ones I attempted.
Not after nerfs.
So for me, Ret was easy - Feral was hard.

I still did paladin pretty early on, and monk was one of the last I completed - I believe only Healer Monk and Hunter BM was done post nerf, actually I think rogue was done late too; all speccs. Its also a class I play very little outside of stealth+pickpocket shenanigans or the odd PVP sap-spree.

Did you try it on unholy? Like I said the ghouls nearly killed here before I was done summoning them.

I did ret early or rather much earlier and feral late. Think i did one hunter spec too.

Ye so you did Feral after nerfs most likely, when a lot of speccs were very easy.
I pushed myself early on to do it on majroity, it was… interesting.
Had a written checklist next to me. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

But as with everything class-wise; Some find X hard, others find Y hard.
I didn’t find Paladin pre-nerf hard, but I did find Feral pre-nerf hard. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Lot more going on in the ret fight. NIce you found it easy. I didn’t.

My friend did the same as feral but on a dk at the time I was doing Ret and also found it very easy. So i guess everyone gets on better with different challenges.

At the start with the MT the Ret strat involved a lot of interruptng, moving about, avoiding DR etc etc. Later strats were more of an aoe approach, and just one key interrupt. Not having to repent the boss.

Typing on phone is a pain.

I didn’t find it having more than feral. :dracthyr_shrug:
Paladin have a lot of things up their sleeve so it made it easy, lots of fail-saves.
Again; I did all classes - and I found paladin ret to be easy early on, pre nerf.

Feral involved interrupting as well, CCing imps, DPSing the right imps, avoiding rolly balls, going fast between X and Y, and self healing.
:dracthyr_shrug:

And yeah, phone is doodoo, at least it didn’t write anything… fishy :dracthyr_crylaugh:

My feral took me 3 attempts day 2 of MT being open in Legion and my main spec was resto and i had never played it before but so wanted the skin . as for ret pala took me 43 attempts and BM hunter was a 1 shot. So what i am trying to say is different strokes for different folks nobody is the same.

That was the same with me. Maybe after a few minutes of non-stop content that makes you actually think/concentrate, my brain goes “Nah, I’m out”

On the other hand, I do think it is down to a bit of RNG too. When you have the web spawn, plus a fear on top of it, then a claw smash pointing towards the web followed by a heal…well it’s just a whole lot of fun then.

Good luck though. Keep us updated!

Don’t give up. Take a break from the challenge, maybe work on your gear and then go do it again.

If you’re interested later on for some reason, as a demon hunter I found this a bit easier:

I set up a build to play a lot more like BFA. That means just straight up chaos striking and blade dancing through it. Movement abilities are ways to avoid mechanics and clear the spittle. Set stuff up so that you just have to focus on metamorphosis, eye beam, blade dance and chaos strike in your talents. Also netherwalk, take the single target stun in case you can’t take the egg down.

(Ilvl 600) the egg felt like it had a really generous timer. Eye beam was up for every single egg by virtue of the talents taken, however you won’t even need it unless you reach it like past halfway through its lifetime. You also have the hunt pretty frequently, metamorphosis every two minutes, the explosions and dot from the hero spec that just deal so much damage.

Priority for me was:

  • Slow down. Take everything one by one. Mechanics are scary but panicking is scarier. One mechanic at a time. Take your time avoiding stuff, do not rush the egg. Do not overdo boss dps if things look hairy. Metamorphosis before you land is an immunity. Netherwalk is an immunity, you can also cancel it after the lethal attack is over.
Genuinely as soon as I told myself to slow down all it took was one more pull.

  • Egg killing, although with eye beam and the hero spec being a big burst you can absolutely kill the spider if something happens. Do not be afraid of that. You have three types of crowd control and can talent into more of them. Two immunities in Netherwalk and Metamorphosis. And if things align well enough that you have time you won’t need to use anything other than immolation aura, chaos strikes and blade dances.

  • Interrupts. Yes, down below the egg. You can live through 10% increased boss health(or however much P2 heals). You can’t live through… death! The heal takes priority for the interrupts, though if the spider needs one, it needs one.

P. S.

  • You can use vengeful retreat as the spittle cast is about to happen. Same for metamorphosis. That way you cleanse it while no mechanics are happening and can afford to do it ASAP.
  • Personally I found it harder the longer the fight went on. I’d lose focus. Of course, by telling myself to slow down that got better but… I just pushed as much DPS on the boss as possible while being mindful of every mechanic. 90% of eye beams, almost every hunt(and definitely every single dot from it), pretty much every metamorphosis all landed on him. My kill took about 7 minutes. That being said DO NOT BE AFRAID OF DOWNTIME. Take unnecessary steps to avoid mechanics. Preposition yourself so that no fear follow-up orbs can hit you. Run to the egg slowly while focusing on not dying rather than doing 1 million more damage total. The portals are scary. Run away. The boss will happily wait for you. As long as you’re not dead you can kill it. This isn’t a raid. No timers, no enrage, no healer mana. Just you and your prey \o/

I know you can do it. I’m absolutely sure of it.

That being said if you wanna quit, don’t be afraid to. No judgement here. As long as you’re happy it’s okay.

Ah MT. I’ve had several attempts in there as I want the Druid skin, for a class I don’t even play lol.

I definitely haven’t done it more than the Zekvir fight, probably about 10 times or something. We’ll see what comes of Legion Remix and what, if anything, they do for the MT tower. Otherwise, I’ll put some additional time into it some point next year. Will likely make a similar post then lol

I’ve not really touched the MT this time, just got the appearance for Ret and left it at that.

I would love any remix now that we can just collect everything on one character.
