Update, a friend of mine has confirmed the tokens are back in Turkish region, but the price of the tokens are in the euros, and not in local currency.

Now, I need to wait till what my Georgian friend says.

Presumably they would be on the ‘Russian’ region.
Elitism was always here, but because there were less “guides” that tell me how to do 0.001% more dmg or heal on x content it was less visable. Way more less streamers aswell.
Dont think game was more healthy. Since Cataclysm, lots of player burned out/quit because got tired of raiding. M+ was like a salvation for many people.
Playerbase dropped big time after mythic+ got here, everything after legion have been a disaster becouse blizz only focus on mythic+ content.
Post USSR or SNG in their native.
By the way, just remembered, how it was back in days when STEAM introduced the price localizations, many EU players also switched their locations to Turkey and started buying games at cheaper price, after which VAVLE asked each account to show proof other location. I do not really remember the full story/article though.
But if someone really did abused the price localization like that, I mean through VPN, Blizzard should ask for proof of residence in Turkey area players, I do think it is unfair to change the prices of token only, because of some abusers, who does not even live in Turkey.
Playerbase dropped before m+ and surely after m+. Im not denying that. But many also still play the games because m+. I think blizz main focus still on raiding tho. Else we would have like lots of more affixes and dungeons.
How did villain bought massive amount of tokens if there is a limit on how many can be bought?
Also, atm 20euro = 300k gold, that means that illegal website must give more than 300k for 20euro in order to make any sense for that website to be used over regular bnet store.
How exactly did he made money?
Are you new, Blizzard have always focused on raiding. Vanilla was about the raiding, just that no one had the time to grind the pre-requisites.
In vanilla raids was fun + the prequest was fun, raiding now is not fun.
It is not back where I live, the in-game menu does not have the menu option of tokens anymore.
Read carefully.
This person bought the tokens using Turkish Lira (i.e. one token per €11) but got the same gold for them (~300k) so when he sold the gold at the 3rd party website for €20…
i dead read carefully. Why would anyone use third party site aka to risk account suspension for same amount of gold per euro as on bnet ?
That’s right, nobody would do that. Those websites are giving way more than token worth, presumably 50% more if not the double.
Hi, I read the last 10 comments but is there any time frame for the tokens to come back in Turkish zone? I saw no official comments whatsoever, not here not anywhere… I understand what happened but the solution cannot be “just ban the tokens for a zone”… that’s low even for Blizzard
It was obvious that someone would do this, unless of course you’re a clueless Blizzard exec that thinks the world is full of ponies and rainbows.
Yet another example of a major fail by Blizzard.
Subjective, in vanilla raids barely had any mechanics and you barely had to do anything.
Did you know that before WOD you needed to farm your own gold to afford things?
And there were no free daily callings before legion so imagine that
This reminds me when you are being used to have something for a looong time and then someone take it from you.
Always think more ways not just one
it’s good skill to have when you going through life
That’s why it’s so popular.
Surely the token price should be equal throughout.
Otherwise people will abuse vpn’s and I wouldn’t blame them.
Why should someone pay more for something just because of the country they are in (we are talking digital commodities here)
