Tol Barad (non-instanced) is not working as intended

Since we are playing on 1-faction servers, the Tol Barad daily area isn’t functioning as intended—it’s supposed to be a PvP zone. As Horde players on Gehennas, we roam around without any threat. This is supposed to be a PvP area, so why not develop some technology and connect other alliance dominated servers to that area to ensure a balanced PVP in Tol Barad.

As Alliance Gehennas I concur, it’s not an easy task to get those quests done.
But tbh the main issue lies with the players. Why did you have to make one server full alliance and one full horde. That’s so dumb. And when i see horde players ganking 10v1 the only alliance trying to do those quests I can’t imagine why. I would not have the heart to jump 10 on 1 in any wpvp situation.
The only thing that could have protected that was if servers were being balanced like they do on SoD but I guess it’s too late now.

You messing up your population in early classic vanilla is defo a you problem. Be happy they thought about how WG and TB are working right now otherwise every PvP server would be really sad looking at world PvP and their zones.

Wdym ? The PvP servers ARE sad looking atm lol. If you’re not on the majority faction you have to be ready to spend quite some time doing the dailies in TB.

I am refering to the battles, not the dailies. And again - Those PvP realms did this to themselves back in P2 of vanilla classic. Enough people warned them - but all those sp*rgs didn’t listen and were toxic af to their enemy faction resulting in the server population we see nowadays.

Yeah that sucks that they ruined the balance.
There’s one thing I wonder about TB though, why is the honor gain so ridiculous compared to WG ? It makes no sense to have an older pvp event give 20x more honor.

No thanks.

There is a reason every server went monofaction. No one can be bothered turning an 18 quest daily exercise into a several hour long affair because of griefers.

I totally get that but then, don’t play on PvP servers.

Well he isnt the one asking for changes. Like Relaxx said, the people ruined the factionbalances on every single PvP server in vanilla by making it impossible for the smaller faction to leave the cities, because even at 4am some “special” players ranked.

This is one of the very few times blizzard isnt the one to blame.

Noone wants " Balanced open world PVP", Go to SOD for that.

I’m pretty sure Tol-Barad flags you for PvP like WG on PvE realms.

You have to understand that on a balanced PvP server there is less PvP happening on questing zones. Even the ones like Tol Barad, because people go there for quests and they know that if they start a fight, it’s just gonna take ages to finish those quests. I doesn’t mean that there won’t be people trying to engage in Wpvp but being able to pug a 5 player grp to get those quests done protects you from being perma ganked/farmed.

It’s a much better solution than having an overwhelming imbalance that prohibits any decent wpvp to ever happen.

And chances are if you play on a PvE server, people won’t PvP much even on zones that flags you because… they chose to play on a PvE server.

No it isn’t.
We do not see live population numbers, only Blizzard do.
They have all the tools necessary (as seen on SoD) to dictate the size & balance of a server.

The reason people flooded to one server, was because people wondered where others were goin & wanted to join them aswell. Blizz had no intention of controlling the population, so why would it fall on the players shoulders??

Locking servers when certain criteras are met & open when they’re no longer met, can be automated. No user interaction needed from blizzard.
But they decided not to until it was to late.

There is no such thing anymore. Your ideology on PvP servers is outdated.

I get that, but Tol Barad was specifically made as a daily PVP zone. Without any PVP it just lost 50% of its flavor
