So tomorrow’s unlock is quickly approaching, and it seems YouTube is already kicking out videos with these points, which is pretty much common sense. But just in case some of you don’t watch those videos and got sick of WoW related content on YouTube due to the flooding of tier list videos prior to TWW being released, I thought I’ll give you a quick run down as to what you can or should do (if you want too) to maximize your gearing when Season 1 begins.
Do your caches/weekly quests — This is for your renown to help with new ranks for new crests, possible items, coffer keys and more…
Do the new world boss, which will now appear
Do your LFR(minimum ilvl is 567)
Start to do your Delves — You want to do normal delves to begin with. You want to get up to tier8 delves, before you will do the 4 bountiful delves, which reset every 24 hours. You only need to do 8 delves, to fill up your Great Vault with Hero quality items for next week.
— Also you will not get any better gear going into Tier9, so focus on Tier8 to gear up and then if you want to unlock up to Tier11, then by all means
Do your Mythic0 runs to replace/upgrade the gear that you’ve gained so far
Do Normal/Heroic raids(if you have gear for PUGs/or guild runs)
You will receive your first Catalyst tomorrow, I’d recommend you avoid wasting this and wait until you get Hero or Myth gear to upgrade to a tier piece
I wish you all the best of luck with tomorrow’s reset! Remember, don’t get salty in those raids, if someone else gets a piece of gear, even if they’re doing lower DPS than you!!
Solo is doable, but you will need to be extra careful as when you start to do your bountiful delves, if you die too many times, you will no longer have that bountiful chest appearing.
Also, if you die too many times, while you’re making your way to tier8, you won’t upgrade the tier of the delves.
So it’s going to be a tricky situation, as I’ve only done tier3 like everyone else currently, who didn’t want to step foot in the beta.
PUG delves are going to be hit or miss!
But do make sure that Brann is already level 15 to make things abit easier when things begin, when we can unlock Tier4.
Well going in blind without knowing what you’re doing, can lead to failure
Unless you’re going out for a couple of drinks and allow the alcohol to take the wheel and then depending on your drop chance, you could end up with a grot or someone not too bad, when you wake up in the morning
The way I understood it is that Blizzard intended delves to be alternatives, so not sure why they are on a checklist. For me they are kind of last priority, or just something I might do for fun at some point, if I get sick of group content. Tbf, if I’m at that point, I’ll rather just play a game on my xbox or something
It’s because of the gear, which you can get from the bountiful chests and also getting Hero quality gear in your Great Vault next week. Just like when you do M+, Raid and PvP content in Dragonflight.
More options to obtain more gear to be able to get into normal/heroic & in the future Mythic raiding
But this is just a thing to do if people want too. No one is forced into this style of play, but those who want to min/max to get the best possible outcome, then having an idea on what to do tomorrow, is never a bad thing
Because endgame content is timegated so people can’t just jump to M+ straight away. If you saved up your keys t8 delves give better rewards than M0, and equal quality to normal raids. But raids drop virtually no loot so delves are very high on the checklist this week.
Based on what I know so far, I think this benefit is miniscule, and I’m not playing on a level, where I try to optimize and squeeze out the 1% for the first week. Honestly, what I think I’ll do is that I just go a bit undergeared as a tank, maybe make my own group, and farm really good gear as soon as it’s available That one potential delve loot alternative is not worth the hassle imo. Better just do content you enjoy, else your fun is gonna go poof
