Too low level to equip "Requires L70" item

I recently ran Nightfall on my L72 Druid and rec’d an iL642 item that showed “Requires L70” in the tooltip… “NO WAY!”, thinks me; so I tried to equip it, only to be met with “Too low level to use this” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

iL642 is, to me, S3 “fresh L80” eqpt, not L70… is the tooltip typo’d or ‘is the game broken…?’ That is NOT a cue to dogpile on “broken game”, btw…

Anyone else noticed this, too & should I file this under “snowball’s chance in Hellof getting fixed”…?

Probably a visual bug, you’d never get that ilvl on a level 70 item.

Report the bug - as bug - in game.

It seems there’s a whole raft of items that fit this same ‘bug’… the AH has many of them.

Earlier in TWW you were able to get level 80 stats on lower level items due to some scaling glitch.

Blizz fixed that pretty quick and nerfed the affected items, idk though what’s going on with this one.

I know you can craft maxed level items with reduced stats to equip them at a lower level, though honestly pointless. :stuck_out_tongue:
