Everybody can silence now from what i realized playing a lot of bgs. Not just shadow priest, but locks, mages etc can pre-interrupt . Not to mention those infinity of stuns, instant repentance etc. I hope it gets better with bigger health pools.
It be a bit weird with level 70 and the gear currently available.
Will get better at 80 and with appropriate gear.
Apart from the introduction of DKs, no one has gotten any new interrupts/silences
I think what you notice is like 50% of a BG is ret pally or a DK…
So what I notice is STUNFEST 2022 is going on in full fashion…ret just chain stun on big HP target…would love to see those diminishing returns.
Silence…if you got a lot of DKS, they will hit ya. I always silence locks/spriests first…heals be pretty rare in bgs but i want my team to absolutely destroy the locks/spriests.
Yes, but every lock or mage for example, pre-interrupts, like blanket silence . It s a fact, happens to me all the time in bgs. In retail, there is no pre-interrupt for those classes; spell-lock for example is only a kick.
Shaman’s wind shear?
Improved counterspell (Mage’s talent giving their counterspell a silence effect) has been a thing since vanilla, there’s no change there.
Earth shock silence - > wind shear. New spell, but not an additional silence. I think OP thought about it that way.

Added wind shear, removed earth shock interrupt. I don’t count that as one extra.
They had that before the pre patch as well. And in vanilla
