My vote goes to Gilneas. No zone is really that scary since the atmosphere and gameplay of an MMO dosent quite allow it to be. But Gilneas is as classic Horror as you can get. Going back to things like transylvania and the early horror movie-aesthetic that is now pop culture standard.
I’d vote Bloodmyst Isle, even if it’s a little unconventional. It taps into a sort of alien horror, with how the remnants of this alien tech has twisted and corrupted the once elven land and its fauna. It’s a less conventional corruption to fel/void that we see so often, and they’re something so incredibly unsettling about the concept of a “fleshbeast”, and how these red crystals - usually associated with the lawful good draenei - twist everything around them.
It highlights an eerie disregard the draenei have for the destruction their kind can cause, and makes you wonder how many planets were left in a similar state to Bloodmyst and abandoned, allowed to fester and warp further.

This concept art sums it up well. Imagine how that sickness could impact a living/humanoid host.

Eastern Plaguelands. I hate every time I need to go there. I wouldn’t call it a creepy zone, but it definitely doesn’t make me feel good.
Now, it doesn’t count as a zone, but…
The Karazhan Crypts. If you ever have the time, explore this long forgotten area. We used it for an event chain last month, and it is likely the creepiest place I’ve ever seen in WoW.
There’s a lot of zones that could be scary, but aren’t – one of the big reasons, for me, is that everything’s so condensed. Each zone only has so much space to work with, so all the scary stuff is a stone’s throw from each other, and the tension/anticipation just isn’t there.

My number one is Elwynn Forest.
While not the creepiest zone, I have my own personal vendetta against Terokkar forest, because of that one quest which made you hunt down a Terokkarantula or something, and that spider is h u g e.
I think when I did the quest, someone had just killed the spider and its body despawned, so I was in the clearing where the spider was meant to be all confused, when BAM! Too Large Angry Spider is thrown in my face.
I’m arachnophobic.
(also something something the whole Auchindoun being dead draenei and all desolately gray is pretty off-putting too)
