Top 3 Worst Expansions

From now on, every time you guys will say that Legion was bad, a poor soul from The Maw will go and feed Gul’Dan and he will resurrect !!!

Worst ones.

  1. Classic, after replaying it I understood why devs were hesitant to bring it back, killed my memories of it, if WoW was like that now, I’d quit.

  2. Bfa, quit multiple times, due to Bordem, azerite and battlefront and island expedition were a let down.
    Questing was interesting though.

  3. Erm, TBC I guess, but I still thought tbc was pretty good, just someone had to be 3rd on the list.

  1. BFA ( had me quit the game more times than I can remember, it was so consistent in how annoying it was at one point I just stopped caring about it and started working on my battle pet collection)
  2. Classic (I really wish I could get my playtime back and spend it on getting battle-pets, for real now)
  3. WoD (aside from the questing, I did everything else except it while it was current content)
  1. WoD
  2. BFA
  3. Shadowlands (though it’s really early to tell since it’s not even finished yet, it’s still miles better than BFA for me from just the beginning, I like the theme better.)
If Shadowlands manages to pump up my interest agane who knows maybe I’ll just throw Cata in my nr. 3 spot even tho I hardly remember cata just that I got bored of it and of course it ruined muh Vanilla WoW world! replaced it with a handful of better quests but still
  1. MoP
  2. Legion
  3. BFA

I don’t have worst expansion cause every expansion is good in it’s own world…
but if i choose i only stop playin during WOD but that was becuase of life problems etc i played all the other ones
basically for me every expansion was good enough to enjoy it cause o play WOD for 6 months

The majority will say otherwise, including me.

Legion was anything but a bad expansion. Yes, there were some NotSoGreat features in it, but there were are good ones too. Problem is Ion, by adding THE worst Legion features in BfA and Shadowlands and leaving the good ones “to dust”, when all he had to do is “fix what’s broken” and go up from there.

My list is facts. If you disagree you are wrong.

  1. Legion
  2. Legion
  3. Legion
  4. Maybe BfA, probably Legion
  5. Possibly BfA

I don’t miss the fact that PvE trinkets and Weapons were BiS for PvP. Talent trees sucked.

I don’t PvE
I started shortly after launch

  1. Cata (it destroyed my world)
  2. WoD (beginning of how WoW is now)
  3. TBC (didn’t like the world or the story)

First, I don’t judge rank an expansion until it comes to its end. So Shadowlands doesn’t qualify for ranking until the prepatch of the next expansion. For example you will see I rank WOD as the worst even though the intro and intial story was great. I liked it at the start, but it couldn’t keep me interested.

With that said, I did quit the game several times because I got bored. So I judge the expansion by how long it kept me interested

With that said the worst expansions are:
1- WOD I quit while progressing on Blackrook Foundry Mythic. Didn’t like challenge modes. Didn’t like PVP.
2- MOP I quit while progressing on Throne of Thunders heroic. Again, didn’t like challenge modes, and pvp.
3- BFA, I loved it at first until the stories of alliance and horde converged. Then I quit (had personal reasons to quit but when the personal reasons was over I didn’t find it interesting to return).

Now the best expansions that kept me interested till the end:
1- TBC I played the entire expansion duration. The expansion with the best memories.

2- Legion 12 class campaigns, 36 artifact stories. M+ was great change from challenge modes, Mage tower, etc. Great expansion. Main flaw was legendary system randomness. Kept me interested and playing till the end. Only expansion that got me interested in leveling all 12 classes to max.

3- WotlK Ulduar is the best raid instance created. ICC was very good too. I quit in ICC progress because of personal reasons and not the game.

My first experience with legit retail was BfA but before that I did dabble in blizzard-like Private Servers so I feel at least a little qualified to answer this, please feel free to disregard my post if you’d rather not include it in your tally!

  1. WoD - If I’d played Retail during this expansion I absolutely would have quit. Boring dungeons, introduction of that stupid achievement-gated flying system, lots of cut content leaving a sour taste in my mouth and meh raids.

  2. BfA - Looked good when I looked it up and looked at some videos, but actually playing, BfA was pretty boring, and the last patch coming out did nothing to help. I hardly did Nya’lotha at all. The whole N’zoth story was cool but it felt very shoehorned in and borrowed power system (heart of azeroth/corruptions/azerite armor) almost made me quit. Storyline prior to the last patch was really not my taste and I hated basically every single zone. I spent most of my time that expansion levelling alts/allied races for heritage armor, farming old stuff for mounts and tmog, and just otherwise exploring the things I’d missed for waiting until BfA to get into WoW properly.

  3. Cata - Raids were either too boring or too convoluted, dungeons were interesting if you could do them but absolutely unapproachable if you were inexperienced with them or got somebody in your party who was, and I hate how I’ll never get to see the old Azeroth I love from watching terrible bandicam clips of vanilla/TBC as a kid for real unless I play Classic. They never should have revamped things the way they did. Deathwing story was kinda neat and t-mogs from the raids were hecka neat but apart from that, ew.

I can understand the hate for SL but it’s definitely better than bfa, I’m having good fun personally.

  1. MoP because pandas were introduced in the game
  2. WoD because of so many promised features that were missing
  3. BfA because of azerite gear and vulpera

A thread filled with people that hate Shadowlands but are still subbed to it for some reason.

Is that a fact? Or perhaps it was because it destroyed the world and was utter garbage?
