Hi WoW community, with my limited knowledge & experience, (where I’m classified as a beginner even though I’ve played the game sloppy since 2004, sometimes 2-8+ years gap in between - a person (me) who never played it properly - but thinking of coming back sometime in Q4 2019 - and playing it properly with in advance coherent planning).
(Also please note : seems like naturally I’m most attracted to Blood Elf Havoc Demon-Hunter & Zandalari Troll).
So yes, with my limited knowledge & experience - currently out of 12 playable Classes I would say the Top are the following :
-
Havoc Demon-Hunter
-
Rogue
-
Warlock
-
Mage (Maybe Balance Druid ? or Maybe Retribution Paladin? or Maybe Frost Death-Knight?) (Probably I would say still Mage)
Please let me know your thoughts, I would much appreciate it.

I’m not entirely sure what this thread is about. Consitently well performing specs?
Edit: whatever it is, I’ll say shaman. Elemental shaman.
It’s about superior DPS (RPDS+MDPS) Classes in WoW which do amazing at all times (no matter which patch or expansion comes up) basically. (The ones that are amazing and fun at all times).
Oh I see you’re saying Elemental Shaman. Only 1 ?
Can’t be just 1 Class I think - I reckon the top number 1 belongs to 3-4 Classes.
In my opinion those 4 are the following:
-
DH
-
Warlock
-
Rogue
-
Mage (Maybe Balance Druid ? Maybe Retribution Paladin? Maybe Frost DK?) (Probably I woudl say still - Mage).
Please let me know your thoughts guys, I would much appreciate it.
Peace.
Yeah I pretty much only play shaman so it’s always been awesome.
I guess rogues always do well.

For dps? the pure classes have at least 1 spec being good.
Consistantly over the years.
Demon hunter is too new to know how it would rank up.
At the later end of an expansion warriors have been good because of how well they scale with gear.
What is fun is what you should focus on and on that part it is all up to you what you think is more fun.

Thank you for your opinion, so basically what you’re saying then is the following:
-
Warlock
-
Rogue
-
Mage
All of these 3 Classes are pure DPS Classes (each having 3 DPS spec) so at least 1 spec being good - consistently over the years.
So I see so you would say these 3 + maybe Fury/Arms Warrior.
I see.
Many thanks, peace.
Choosing a spec to play, which I assume this is about, then it’s whichever you are good at.
Choosing the Flavour of the Month or FotM is never a good idea.

Is this a “Hi gais I want to pwn please help me choose a spec” thread?
Nope not choosing a spec to play and not flavour of the month - just overall top superior DPS classes which are limited to 3-4 I would say out of 12 - in your opinion which ones are they ?
There is no ‘‘best spec’’ overall, currently its outlaw rogue, but next tier it’ll probbaly be something else after nerfs. play what you enjoy
The nerfs for outlaws one trait. That’s not even that OP. They’ll still be AoE kings, ans pretty lame ST. It’s more next affix that’s gonna change meta classes.
The only reason outlaw does nuts damage, is because reaping. And the fact outlaw have the largest range AoE. My 400 outlaw destroys my 415 DH on dps. Purely because he can hit the full 20 mobs. Dh eye beam can’t hit a big spread out pack well for example.

Seems like I’ll pick one of these my main (DPS)
-
Orc Warlock
-
Undead Rogue
-
Blood Elf Havoc Demon-Hunter
Zandalari Troll I’ll unlock it just for fun to play and test out but I don’t think my main will be Zandalari Troll as Rogue Class doesn’t suit or match Zandalari Troll Race coming to Warlock it’s not available for ZT and I don’t think it suits them, same scenario with DH.
Good DPS Class for ZT Race I reckon would be - none.
Even though one can pick Balance Druid ZT or Ret Pally ZT still they’re not overall (PVE+PVP) good pick DPS wise as they’re hybrid Class.
A DPS class which remains strong even after nerf, patch expansion, both in PVE + PVP can be only a Class which has only DPS specs I think, DH being exception as it’s a Illidan Illidari Champion Class.
Hybrid class can’t be strong DPS Class at all times (PVE+PVP wise).
It seems like my main won’t be ZT, I’ll have ZT still though as my 2nd or 3rd hero.
But my main hero will be either Warlock or Rogue or Demon-Hunter.
Please let me know your thoughts.
I would much appreciate it.
Peace.
classes that have always been good and will probably always be good:
Mage
Rogue

Yes I do agree with you, If I would have to say Classes that have always been good and will always be good (everything wise - PVE + PVP) then these 4 are the following:
-
Warlock
-
Rogue
-
Mage
-
Havoc Demon-Hunter
Mage this xpac so far, kinda lame, niche class.
Let’s wait for 8.2 and see how fire mage plays out in good gear.
But your point is fair, pugs don’t grab mage as fast as rogue or DH… atm

Sorry what do you mean - “pugs don’t grab Mage as fast as Rogue or DH” ? Please let me know, I would much appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.
Peace
Well I have mage, DH, rogue, pala, shammy, DK at Max level.
And the fastest invites to a pug key happen on a rogue and DH.
To get invite with mage even when ilvl and Rio are sufficient for m+10 takes longer for me.
Rogue is almost insta inv, like tank ffs. And as people say outlaw aoe is very good, you literally have an option to dps the whole reaping wave with the blade flurry.
