Top speed is no speed!

So I did some calculating, because I’m a gnome, and we do these things. Slow flying is roughly 36 miles an hour.
Swift ground mounts are 27.69 miles per hour.
Usain bolt runs faster than your motor bike. At 27.78 MPH.
Once I level some more and get swift flight, I’ll let you know how that goes!

I have been playing other games like Breakpoint and I really enjoyed the vehicles and the different speeds some of the vehicles have. For instance, a truck goes slower than a motorbike or car, etc. In WOW everything is exactly the same speed. The trouble with WOW is it is a very old game and I don’t think they can improve much of the gameplay.

Would be cool if diving would accelerate your mount a bit with a nifty wind effect.

Also a dive animation!

I was referencing a song. XD
Edit: Bah, the song is full speed, not top speed, Oh well.

It’s good when the bigger vehicles feel more powerful, like a lumbering turtle, you’re slow, but you don’t mind, because you’re still big and awesome!
And then the little motorbike, low to the ground, zips past, also feels awesome in it’s way too!

SWOOSH! I would love this!

I have the 20% faster ground mount equipment

So you move at around 30MPH.
Edit, scratch that, you’ll move at around 28.5, because 10% of that doesn’t stack with the guild bonus, which will have been in my original numbers. Woops!

If they made mount X the highest speed then it would be 'BiS and you’d ‘have’ to have it. We seen it with the waterstriders. In the end they made all mounts walk on water with a rep item.

Guess what all my characters have equipped in the mount slot.

Well that’s the speed limit in towns so your mount goes as fast as most cars you see on the street.

Unless each different type of mount had a different bonus, then they’d all have their value.
Like Guild Wars 2 has done with it’s mounts, some are good for some things, others for other things.
Raptors can leap distances, other mounts can glide, sprint really fast, jump up high.

People where you live obide by the rules more than the hooligans around here. XD

Miles per hour? We don’t do that here.

Its a interesting topic to be sure, but i do not think it would work we have to many speedrunners on this game so many people would just get the fasest mount and stick with that.

27.69 MPH in KM/H is 44.5
Easily translated with google, sorry, in Scotland we use MPH.

I find it boring that all mounts have the same speed. I also find it weird that we don’t have 4 - 6 seater mounts? I would have loved to have a chariot or carriage with 6 horses etc. I have given up hoping anything will change or improve in this game though. It is very clear that WOW is Blizzard’s cash cow and even though it is slowly dying they will milk it for as long as they can.

They finally added glasses, so now we just need to ask for carriages for another 6 years and we might get it. =D
I’d love 5 seater chariots, and one that can fly.
Like the revendreth ones, or the one in the Plaguelands!

Running speed is 7yd/s so assuming you used this value to get mph journeyman riding is 14yd/s or 28.6mph. Flying is 35.8mph and fast flying (master riding) is 58.7mph.

Still flight paths are even faster, especially the one where the DKs send you to Dalaran from Acherus if you try to invade their class hall.

Well yeah a time mage can tell me the answer. Thanks though, on foot is interesting to know!
With the guild buff, Master Flying clocked me in at exactly 1 minute per mile, which is easy to work out at 60 miles per hour.
(96.5 KMH.)

I’m dead so I get 20% mount speed

Update: When you go through the stargate to Bastion, (Or any other place I suppose) you go at 4317% movement speed, This is 617.7 Miles per hour.
So that’s 994.09 Kilometers an hour through the stargate.
Super speed!
